When I was younger my spirit was very gypsy and I loved to change cities often; I've always liked traveling though, I've always loved experiencing the places I was in, not as a tourist but as a local.

I have been to Rome, Milan, a month in Portugal, I lived for a year in Foggia in Puglia and, thanks to my beloved Avis, during the period in which I was part of the national youth executive, every weekend I was in a different city of Italy... for four years I didn't have a free weekend even if, I have to admit, that I loved all the weekends of those four years eh eh!

In my wanderings I have always wondered if there was a place for me, a place where I would have liked to stop... when I arrived in Montaione I found it!
Yes, at the moment I live in Reggio Calabria, in my hometown, but that little village in Tuscany is and will always remain my soul place.

We're talking about a small village that ten years ago had 2700 souls, almost mountainous, pretty cold and there was snow in winter.
Cheerful people, welcoming and always smiling Tuscans, they immediately made me feel at home.
I immediately integrated into the community, perhaps also because before moving there I went there several times and was able to make friends with so many people.

I remember, when I opened my restaurant, everyone did their utmost to help me out, even the mayor himself, with whom I am a friend and who I still talk to today.
People really made you feel affection, something I hadn't felt often.

I lived in Montaione for a year, then things in life led me to explore new places before returning to Reggio.
But sooner or later Reny and I will go back to live there, I'm sure; now it's probably not the time yet, but that's okay, the next time we go there it will be to stay there... or rather we'll go there soon because every few days we have to go and breathe some fresh air but, soon, it will also arrive time to move.

In the meantime I carry with me the memories of the past days that give me strength to build a bright future, life after all is a circle that will close by getting us to the right place.

Quando ero più giovane il mio spirito era molto zingaro e amavo cambiare spesso città; mi è sempre piaciuto viaggiare però, ho sempre amato vivere i posti in cui mi trovavo non da turista bensì da abitante del posto.

Sono stato a Roma, a Milano, un mese in Portogallo, ho vissuto un anno a Foggia in Puglia e, grazie alla mia amata Avis, durante il periodo in cui facevo parte dell'esecutivo Nazionale giovani ogni fine settimana mi trovavo in una diversa città d'Italia... per quattro anni non ho avuto un fine settimana libero anche se, devo ammettere, che i fine settimana di quei quattro anni li ho amati tutti eh eh!

Nel mio girovagare mi sono sempre chiesto se esistesse un posto per me, un posto in cui avrei desiderato fermarmi... quando sono arrivato a Montaione l'ho trovato!
Si in questo momento vivo a Reggio Calabria, nell mia città Natale, ma quel paesino della Toscana è e resterà sempre il mio posto dell'anima.

Parliamo di un paesino che dieci anni fa contava 2700 anime, quasi montagna, bello freddo e in inverno c'era la neve.
Gente allegra i Toscani accoglienti e sempre sorridenti, mi hanno fatto subito sentire a casa.
Mi sono integrato subito nella comunità, forse anche perché prima di trasferirmici  ci sono andato parecchie volte avendo modo di fare amicizia con tanta gente.

Ricordo, quando ho aperto il mio locale, tutti a prodigarsi per darmi una mano, anche il sindaco in persona con il quale sono amico e che sento ancora oggi.
Davvero la gente Ti faceva sentire l'affetto, una cosa che non avevo provato spesso.

Ho vissuto a Montaione per un anno, poi le cose della vita mi hanno portato ad esplorare nuovi posti prima di rientrare a Reggio.
Ma prima o poi io e Reny torneremo a viverci, ne sono certo; ora probabilmente non è ancora il momento, ma va bene così, la prossima volta in cui ci andremo sarà per restarci... o meglio ci andremo presto perché ogni tot dobbiamo andare a respirare un po' di aria buona ma, presto, arriverà anche il momento di trasferirsi. 

Nel frattempo porto con me i ricordi dei giorni passati che mi danno forza per costruire un futuro radioso, la vita poi in fondo è un cerchio che si chiuderà facendoci arrivare nel posto giusto.
