The terms of the agreement with the startup were not disclosed in the publication. Coinbase currently has an application called Toshi, which can be used by users as an Ethereum portfolio or to browse Ethereum network applications and send secure messages as is the case with Cipher Browser. With this partnership, Coinbase seeks to restructure its application and integrate features of Cipher in Toshi. In this way, Pete Kim, developer of Cipher, will become the head of engineering of Toshi with the support of Sid Coelho-Prabhu, product manager of Coinbase. With this new partnership, a Toshi testnet will be launched, which will allow developers to test their applications without using real cryptocurrencies. In a tweet from Cipher Browser, Kim states: We will integrate many features of Cipher Browser in Toshi. We are committed to creating the best web experience 3 (Dapp) on mobile devices. For its part, Rachel Horwitz, vice president of communications for Coinbase, said that the company always seeks to acquire the best technology in the cryptographic sector, adding that given the similarity of visions in relation to Toshi and Cipher Browser products, they are happy that Kim joins the project. Last month, Coinbase also diversified its team by incorporating former LinkedIn executive Emilie Choi as its new vice president of corporate and commercial development. In this sense, the main functions of Choi will be the supervision of functions and new acquisitions of the company based in San Francisco, California.
