I have been resisting these for a while and been sticking to main Crypto's with USD markets. With a very small exception to pick up a little ripple, which I don't technically consider a Crypto Currency more of a stock you can buy with crypto.

Anyway, I couldn't resist anymore and decided to pick up a few coins. Below are my opinions and thoughts on them to share some of your thoughts back so we can really see where the crypto community stands on these.

ADA

The technology and concepts of this coin could potentially add as much functionality to blockchain networks as Etherium did. With a limited coin supply paying any amount for this today seems potentially to be cheap for it in the future. The problems are their isn't much of the infrastructure built to give real world uses of the coin, just a lot of plans for them. And there are fees for transactions, which in the future I feel may be a huge fault for many of the current crypto currencies available.

Steem

This one is pretty obvious haha. As just said fees are a huge drawback to adopting a currency, as is seen by Ripple's recent surges thanks to its reliability, corporate structure, and CHEAP transactions. The only thing that beats cheap is free, like Steem transactions. Also the primary use of Steem being powering up an account which locks in funds for a forced HODL. Only 7.7% of a users Steempower can get converted and sold all at once in any week, these restraints are actually even stricter than similar ones in place in many developed economies. In some investment regulations you are not allowed to sell over 10% of a markets avg daily volume at any one time. Steem has made it that only 7.7% of the total amount of Steem power can get sold off all at one time with the regular trading of the non vested/powered up Steem. Furthermore some simple looks at the blockchain show roughly 20-30% of total Steem isn't vested. Thats not much Steem to go around. 

We are seeing the results of what happens when people want to power up accounts and get more out of the platform but no one is able to sell.

The downside to all this is Steem aims to have a steady 1:1 ration with 1 USD so according to the hopes of the code in the white paper the price of steem should ultimately reverse at some point.

DASH

I have known about Dash since it was known as Darkcoin. It is a long surviving coin with full anonymity and a long time reliable development team. On top of this it's market has been very strong over the term of this crypto craze the last 1-2 years, and I have reason to believe that it will continue to do so as the number one most reliable choice for an anonymous transaction.

Some Honorable Mentions

Stellar Lumens XLM

This coin was forked off of Ripple with a decentralized approach rather than storing the bulk of the coins under one centralised groups control. I had already put a little money into Ripple for its corporate deals attaching it to real life use, and was more long Steem for micro transactions since it is free.

Rai Blocks

This coin basically looked like Steem without a social media platform or aims to direct a real world use, and no coded in monetary policies. However it did have no fees and an easy to use interface, which gives it potential for an easily adapted real world use, one that is admittedly easier than learning the Steem ecosystem through and through. I felt though that Steem was better a bet for a no fee coin, since things could easily be dumbed down and give no fee transactions by not taking any of the real advantages of Steem that aren't offered by Rai Blocks from the start.
