### Introduction
This post is a continuation of my contribution to the Trade.io community, especially as regards how they could serve the Steem community better, and the crypto-community in general.

I am a huge believer in Steem, and i think that in the not-so-distant future, when cryptos go mainstream, Steem will have tons of cutting-edge, industry-leading applications, dapps, and use-cases that will make the token price reflect its worth in the general crypto market. Hence, the reason any serious crypto investor should take it serious. It's dirt cheap nowadays. we'll just have to hang in there, but not for long.

I am pretty much an early-adopter member of the Trade.io community, having created a trading account during the pre-registration window early last month. I also own a few TIO tokens.

Well, i'll keep things simple and short with a few screenshots and explanations where necessary.

So, as i got around exploring the Trade.io platform and i discovered that Trade.io could become a lot more dear to the steemit community if they found a way to create a direct gateway for users to deposit STEEM on their trade.io accounts without getting charged.

##### Why do i want this? 

Well, i've been doing a lot of reading on Trade.io as well as comparing the services they offer to the services on other exchanges. Trade.io excels in many aspects (with its modern NIST-compliant security protocols, dynamic interface, low fees, liquidity pool, etc), but there is one exchange that came to mind because of one unique service to the community. It's Binance.

I don't know about other mediums for transferring steem into and off the Steem blockchain, but I think Binance have earned a special place when it comes to  aiding users boycott steem deposit commissions on their exchange.

Binance has integrated a gateway steem account called @deepcrypto8 that allows users to send their earned steem tokens to their binance account wallet for free without commission. From there, one could decide to trade it against the BTC or the ETH on the exchange. 

There is a default way of sending out steem from the blockchain. It's through @blocktrades and you're usually charged a small commission for every transaction you make. In fact, @blocktrades advises that users send a minimum amount of coins in order to get a fair deal off of their transaction after the fees have been absorbed from the sent tokens. It's totally safe to use if you're sending to a different blockchain.

This is not to say that @blocktrades' services isn't great. Their services are top notch and they too have their edge over direct gateway. Besides, I regularly use its shapeshift protocol to convert and send STEEM directly to a BTC or ETH cold wallet or an exchange (a service which isn't available on Binance). However, with Binance's no-commission gateway, your STEEM can be sent out to their exchange where you can then resume trading/conversion into ETH or BTC with the same amount of Steem you transferred still intact. Who wouldn't love that?

Apart from Binance, there is another exchange with this feature. It's Openledger on Bitshares DEX UI. They too, have a gateway account called @openledger-dex that allows you deposit without commission fees. But i haven't used their services in a long time because i had my deposit delayed for over 48 hours the last time i tried it. Don't worry, it's a personal ...thingy. However, be sure you've checked to see that it works before trying it out.

#### How did they do it?
While i am not remotely sure about the technicalities behind this process, i do know how it works. These screenshots were taken from the Binance app on my Android device 3 days ago.

First, I go onto my Binance account, click the deposit button right there at the top and go on to select the currency; Steem.

Then i get this notification that the transaction needs both a memo and a steem address. That's all you would need for a successful transfer.

I go ahead to reveal and copy the Address and memo, log in to my steem wallet transfer page and simply type in the amount of steem I want to send, and then paste the memo and the gateway username and hit the send button.

In a few minutes, i get an email notification that my Binance account has been funded with exactly the same amount of steem, down to the last decimal!

This has saved me a lot of money since i started trading steem on exchanges and i believe a lot of steemit users know and use it too.

### Conclusion -- A Trade.io gateway would be pretty cool!

In the recent days, we have been pitching steem as the gateway currency through which the blockchain could see a wider global adoption mostly because of its proven and easy-to-use tech and features (zero-fees transactions, speed, rewards system, et al). Steemit has proven so far that social media has a powerful way of uniting people from all over the world, and it all started with just this one dapp! Today, there are several others with more dapps still in the works, each probably with their own tokens, rewards system variations, and business models. And there will be one cryptocurrency to rule them all - Steem!

I see an opportunity here to be known and endeared to the community (especially since Trade.io clearly states that it is a community-concerned Institution). Depositing steem on our favourite exchanges should cost us nothing, especially when the cost is not from that exchange itself. 

I want Trade.io to win, mostly because apart from simply reviewing and writing about this project, i really think they have a kickass plan and resources in place to become a major force in the market -come crypto-dominance in the future!- Would Steem users and traders prefer to use Binance when the real adoption comes? Or Trade.io?
