Namaste 🙏

I hope you all are doing great!

I bet you guys are wondering that how can Kedarnath yatra (Uttrakhand, India) be incomplete without visiting this temple, which is situated in Nepal (Bhaktpur)? Another question that must be inside your head is how this temple which is more than thousand kilometres away can be related to Kedarnath?

The answer lies in the story of the formation of Kedarnath Temple itself. If you are keen devotee of Lord Shiva like me, you must be knowing the story of Kedarnath. Even if you don’t know about the story of Kedarnath, I’m gonna tell you that in this blog.

So it was more than 5000 years ago, when the epic battle of Mahabharat was just finished, and the Pandavas wanted to see Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva didn’t want to give Darshan to Pandavas as they were in a war, which was responsible for the death of many people, show the Lord Shiva took the camouflage in a body of a Bull when the Pandavas came to visit him in the Himalayas near Kedarnath.

Even in the body of bull, Pandavas were able to recognise him, and that’s when he decided to get dissolved in the land itself. When Lord Shiva was getting resolved in the land tail and the bump on the back of the bull was outside of the land, that Pandavas held which is worshipped as Kedarnath in Uttarakhand till date.

It is believed that the head part was teleported here in near Kathmandu at Bhaktpur Distt which is worshipped as Doleshwar Mahadev Temple.

If you have been following my journey, so far, you must be knowing that I am travelling from India to Nepal with my grandparents and I am travelling with a group of 150 people mostly elderly, and we all are travelling together with IRCTC and we have dedicated guides with us. It was my second day in Kathmandu and today after visiting Pashupati Nath Temple in the morning and Baudth Stupa in the afternoon, we came to the countryside of the Kathmandu and visited this holy Temple.

The piece that was inside of the temple was in measurable. I was feeling really happy when I visited that temple, and that feeling cannot just be expressed in words. There were people from all across India as well as Nepal present there at the time when I arrived.

From the photographs, you can see that this temple is built using Nepali architecture that is quite unique and mostly consists of wood and stone. The shivling that is situated inside of this temple is believed to be more than 5000 years old.

I did not capture the photographs of the temple as it was prohibited. In spite of the prohibition, many people were capturing photographs. Even I could have easily captured as no one was there to stop us from doing that, but I usually try to maintain the dignity of a place and don’t intelligence such kind of non sense activities.

After doing the Darshan from inside, I lighted up some incense sticks that you can see in the photograph below. There was a special space outside of the temple dedicated to incense sticks and Deepaks.

There was this huge idol of bull outside of the temple, which is usually outside every Shiv temple. The bull is called Nandi. This was the main attraction of the temple and people were capturing photos with him. I also captured my grandparents photo against of this and they were really happy.

This was a perfect day to visit this temple. It wasn’t too hot, and it wasn’t too cold. Either this place I situated in the countryside and also the foothills of Himalayas. We were experiencing some cool breeze flowing consistently and making the atmosphere even better.

We captured several selfies and several photograph photographs of each other that you can see below. Everyone was so happy and everyone wanted to make memories and capture them forever.

After spending about a couple hours there, it was time for us to get back to the main city of Kathmandu and this time we were going to Bhaktpur. I’m gonna tell you guys about my visit to Bhagatpur in next blog.

That’s all for today.

Thanks for passing by.

Peace ☮️
