 Namaste 🙏 Hope you all are doing great! Today I’ll be taking you to the most mysterious place, and the most important Ghat of Varanasi called the Manikarnika Ghat. This place is considered one of the most sacred and important place in Hinduism for cremation of dead bodies and because of that there are always some dead bodies present there to be burnt and cremated!!!  The smoke caused by the burning of dead bodies never goes off here as the process always continues, and there are always some bodies in line which are to be cremated here.  In Hinduism, death is considered the gateway of a new life, so it is believed that the person who has been cremated here in this holy place gets out of the cycle of birth and death and attends the ultimate freedom or Nirvana or Moksha.  As the above both was approaching this Holi place everyone who were present inside of our boat, started experiencing this very unique kind of vibe and everyone’s heartbeat started to rise.  There were about 3 to 4 dead bodies which were being burnt at the time when we visited there, and there were more in line which were getting ready to be burnt that we saw while laying down on the side of the Ghat.  There are huge piles of firewood kept on the sidelines of this Ghat to continue this process of cremation and always have firewood readily available in case someone in need wants it.   This place is of so much importance in Hindu religion that people from far away places bring their loved ones here to be cremated and many old people shift to Kashi so that they spend their last moment of life, praying to Lord, and after their dead, they are cremated here in this sacred place so that they attain Moksha directly.   This heart is very near to the one of the most important temples of the world that is Kashi Vishwanath Temple. In fact, just after you visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, you see this Ghat.  I visited and saw more than 50 guards as of now and what I have seen is more than half of the hearts of Varanasi, but there are still many more which I didn’t even see as of now, but our journey was still here only and soon we get off the boat to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple.  After crossing this Holi place of cremation, we were approaching the sidelines of the Ghat, where our boat was to be parked, and all passenger were to de boarded.   Now our boat slowly started losing speed and we were now moving towards the right side of the city. Our boat was to be parked on the right bank of the river Ganga, and our next destination was the Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Varanasi.  I wanted to see the Mani Karnika Ghat up close also once I get off the boat. There was a different kind of curiosity inside of me regarding that mythical place. That’s a place that is one of a kind in the whole world, and the wife of that place is just so different that you cannot feel it elsewhere in the world.  Now in the ramp below, you can see the place where we want to be devoted. Our boat, slowly started losing speed and slowly started to park on the side lines.  This was an end to a boat journey that I’m gonna remember all my life in the past 8 to 9 blogs. I have written about this sports journey and also written about all the Ghats that I saw while on the boat.
