Hello guys, @pasaift here. Hope you enjoying your weekend. 
Today I was talking with a friend @theophyla who was complaining of low number of upvotes and also low earnings. This seems to be the usual complain of newbie steemians. It was unfortunate because he signed up by a friend of his, but the friend never gave proper orientation on how steemit is operated.  Imagine  this instance when someone keeps using the introduceyourself tag on all his posts or another  situation  where someone is putting username in his tag section, or an instace when a newbie is using just a single tag. This is just wrong. Low earnings contributes to  part of the reason  we have abandoned accounts here on steemit. 

I know it's our collective responsibility to grow/ promote steemit by introducing our friends and family. but after getting people signed up,  we should not  just leave them to swim in this large steemit ocean on their own. We should guide them on, even after their introductory post. Elaborate the usefulness of tags to the newbies, and also the importance of including images to posts. These two factors (proper tagging and related images) are what can help in attracting people to read what has just been published. But when a newbie fails in this, how won't he/she complain of low earnings and give up on steemit halfway.
Also we should try adding them in various groups either on discord, whatsapp or telegram. This would help in getting them to socialize with other steemians. We should remember that steemit is a socioeconomic platform, so without  socialising, one can't really go far here.
I almost forgot about  Cheetah. It's not nice when someone is caught by this bot. Explanation should also be made that steemit is not a dumping site where one can copy posts from anywhere and just dump here. 90% of Cheetahs victims are newbies.

If all these can be done,  then I believe that we would be making it easier for newbies to survive here. Also reducing number of abandoned accounts.
Keep promoting steem, and keep steeming.
