After a few brief moments of nightmare-ridden dreams, I stayed up early, but already yesterday I went to sleep very late, so between staying up until dawn and not getting much sleep at dawn, it turns out that I've stayed awake, praying that in a while I'll fall asleep and have a chance to sleep.<br><br>
Considering that once I sleep it is possible that the time will pass, and I will not publish today's blog, I prefer to do it early, in daily life I have nothing new to report, at least in general terms, but in what corresponds to the #History, yes there is an important thing associated with this date: July 28, 1794, Maximilien Robespierre was executed at the Guillotine, the day before he had been arrested along with several of his collaborators in the <i>Hôtel de Ville</i> of Paris, after an expeditious procedure and at an impressively fast administrative speed, he was put to death together with 21 of his allies.<br><br>
#Robespierre headed the Committee of Public Safety, during the period of the French Revolution called by historians as the "Reign of Terror" (from September 5 (1793) to July 27 (1794)). During the Terror, the Committee exercised dictatorial control over the French government and its population, and systematically issued death sentences to those who were considered enemies of the Revolution, it is a record for history that in the short time of operation they achieved end the lives of some 17,000 people.<br><br>
Personally, I find it particularly ironic that the main instrument used to execute the victims of the Committee was the Guillotine, the same instrument with which Robespierre loses his mind to the acclamation of the crowd... since it turns out that he died in the square that today it is known in Paris as the <i>Place de la Concorde</i>, the very place where he had been sending people to die. Do you know a detail that is also curious? Robespierre was, in his early years as a lawyer, a defender of the dispossessed and an outspoken opponent of the death penalty, so it intrigues me at times to try to understand at what point he changed so much that he didn't mind handing down a sentence of death to thousands of people in a few months. This may be one more example of a common problem with the hypocritical "Hero" mentality, where one person fights something fervently if their opponents do, but assures everyone that it is "well done" if they do him... a matter of double moral standards from my point of view.<br><br>
Well, I may never know that he achieved such a drastic change, anyway, I wish you well and that we can read each other another time.<br>---

Luego de unos breves momentos de sueños plagados de pesadillas, me quedé despierto desde temprano, pero ya el día de ayer me fui a dormir muy tarde, así que entre el estar despierto hasta la madrugada y no lograr dormir casi nada al amanecer, resulta que me he quedado despierto, rogando que dentro de un rato me gane el sueño y tenga oportunidad de poder dormir.<br><br>
Considerando que una vez que duerma es posible que se me pase la hora y no publique la bitácora de hoy, prefiero hacerlo temprano, en la vida diaria no tengo nada nuevo que reportar, por lo menos en líneas generales, pero en lo que corresponde a la #Historia, sí que hay una cosa importante asociado a esta fecha: 28 de julio de 1794, Maximilien Robespierre fue ejecutado en la Guillotina, el día anterior había sido arrestado junto con varios de sus colaboradores en el <i>Hôtel de Ville</i> de París, luego de un procedimiento expedito y a velocidad de procedimiento administrativo impresionantemente rápido, fue llevado a ejecución junto con 21 de sus aliados.<br><br>
#Robespierre encabezó el Comité de Seguridad Pública, durante el periodo de la Revolución Francesa denominado por los historiadores como el "Reinado del Terror" (del 5 de septiembre de 1793 al 27 de julio de 1794). Durante el Terror, el Comité ejerció un control dictatorial sobre el gobierno francés y su población, y dictó sistemáticamente condenas de muerte a los que fueran consideraros como enemigos de la Revolución, es todo un récord para la historia que en el corto tiempo de funcionamiento lograran acabar con la vida de unas 17.000 personas.<br><br>
En lo personal, encuentro particularmente irónico que el principal instrumento para ejecutar a las víctimas del Comité era la Guillotina, el mismo instrumento con que Robespierre pierde la cabeza en medio de la aclamación de la multitud... pues resulta que murió en la plaza que hoy se conoce en París como la <i>Place de la Concorde</i>, el mismo sitio donde había estado mandando gente a morir. ¿Sabes un detalle también que resulta curioso? Robespierre fue, en sus años iniciales como abogado, un defensor de los más desposeídos y un opositor abiertamente conocido de la pena de muerte, así que me intriga por momentos tratar de entender en que punto cambió tanto como para que no le importara dar sentencia de muerte a miles de personas en unos pocos meses. Puede que este sea un ejemplo más de un problema común de la mentalidad hipócrita de "Héroe", en donde una persona combate algo fervientemente si lo hacen sus opositores, pero asegura a todo el mundo que eso mismo está "bien hecho" si lo hace él... una cuestión de doble moral según mi punto de vista.<br><br>
Bueno, puede que yo nunca sepa que logró un cambio tan drástico, en fin, te deseo que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer en otra oportunidad.
