Hello everyone and happy Wednesday, the hump day of the week. Today, I was going through one of drawers (it needed some cleaning) and I found an old "Sanguina" pencil (also known as Sanguine in french, it is another term to describe a bloodish color (blood is called "sang" in french)). The art f using sophisticated words to describe something simple. I have been drawing a lot lately on the computer, exploring the world of digital arts and I love it. But I still love the old-fashioned way of using a pencil and a brush, So I want to keep in touch whip the original ways. Since I used to draw portraits using that bloodish pencil, it was the first thing that came to my mind. Portraits are always a plus anf a good way to explore different shades, but I do not want to limit myself to portraits only, As I want to learn the entire body anatomy and movements (And I like to draw scenes too0, I like to draw all sorts of things, whether they have sense or not. Also, some people are so amazing doing portraits, I just want to be able to reach their level eventually, I know this will take a while. The material that I use was, like I said initially, the sanguina pencil, the brend of it is called "Cente a Paris" , I also used a white color charcoal and a simple blender (which is just a piece of paper that I twisted together, using it for smudging). As for the paper, I use a tone gray colored sketch paper from Strathmore (again, very basic). I could have made a better choice of paper, the great tone is not the best for colors, but is awesome for black and whites, but it still ain't bad. Maybe a slight beige color tone paper would have been better, maybe next time. Here are some progress pics : I hope you guys like it. Thanks for the view
