# Under the Russian dome

Living in Russia right now is a bit like in the movie "The Truman Show" or for the people that have seen the series "Under the dome". Traditional media and social media are all blocked and censored via the internet. No Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc... Except for those that use a VPN, but they have to be very careful. One slip up, and the police is at their doorstep. But one social medium escapes all of this, and that is Hive, and all of its communities. Hive is still available to surf in Russia, and it will probably not be censored in the future too. That is the beauty about decentralized social media, it escapes censorship, it escapes monopolies, it is all about freedom. And let that be a big problem in countries like Russia. Enter Hive, a blockchain based social medium where you can talk, post, comment about any subject there is in the world, and on top of that, you even earn money while doing it!

# Freedom is worth more than money

Freedom of speech, and press freedom is essential in our current society. We can not emphasise that enough in my opinion. And that is the aspect of Hive and its communities that I like the most. Even more than the earning part of it. It enables people from all over the world to connect, exchange thoughts, learn, laugh, cry, etc... That is worth more than a trillion dollars in my opinion. And I hope we can keep it this way. And hopefully expand it, by attracting more and more users. Especially in those areas in the world where freedom of speech is controlled by the government and its following.

Think about it, when you go to sleep tonight, Hive is freedom!
