<center><center/> <center>*Friday as I mentioned in my previous post I decided to take off work and go on an adventure the first part of my adventure can be found [here](https://steemit.com/life/@pennydread/friday-adventures-part-one-book-exchange), the second part was of course another **HUGE** favourite of mine **BEER!** My best mate and I set out to test some exquisite beer in a play called TriggerFish, again in Somerset West*<center/> <center> **TRIGGERFISH: Unit 9, W.R. Quinan Blvd, Paardevlei, 7130**</center> <center><center/> I can't tell you how perfect this place is guys! Firstly, it is in the middle of nowhere and is surrounded by so much GREEN! For Cape Town anything beer related is somehow always in busy city center of at huge breweries where there are lots of tours and it is more of a learning experience than a tasting experience. This place does not show you how beer is made, they don't give prolonged speeches about what undertones you should be recognizing when tasting and they don't force on you the most popular beer they have. AND CAN I GET AN AMEN ON THEIR TASTE IN MUSIC! For the entire 3 hours (and 33 beers) I found myself visiting, I listened to Elvis Presley as I walked through the doors, Aerosmith (Yep, Still Steven obsessed over here) for my first beer and Sweet home Motherfucking Alabama as I took my drunk ass home (designated driver yall not to worry- safety first) <center>**THERE'S SO MUCH TO SEE!**</center> <center><center/><center> An old 1900's service trike mounted up against the ceiling.<center/> <center>.jpg)<center/><center> This amazing sculpture in the parking lot made from scrap metal, screws and broken chainsaws, we did some Miley Cyrus impersonations together.<center/> <center>.jpg)<center/><center> This Big Boy had his arms wrapped around me and offered me the most beautiful scrap metal flower, I almost fell in love 😍 😋<center/> <center>.jpg)<center/><center> This is a visitors wall where people all over the world have written messages, their names or drew pictures. <center/> <center> *Some of my favourite quotes*<center/> *"Dolce Far Niente"(the sweetness of doing nothing)* *"As I have grown older I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake"* *"Never trust a SOBER bartender"* *"Hier kom groot kak"(basically shit is gonna hit the fan)* <center><center/><center> Ring bell at own Peril- So i obviously rang it and got right down to the tasting, fo those of you interested in the actual beer tasting reviews I have selected my 5 favourite beers:<center/> **1) Black Marlin - Russian Imperial Stout** - pours pitch black with a dense tan head. Definitely a winter beer with undertones of coffee, aniseed, caramel and dark chocolate. 9.9% alcohol and a lingering bitter after taste this is very reminiscent of a Guinness **2)Southern Right- South African Pale Ale** - golden beer, fresh and crisp and easy to drink. A Summer beer perfectly for sipping outside on hot days, undertones of citrus fruit and herbs (from the fynbos) and as it is our most famous flora and our most exported fruit (soft citrus) it really is proudly South African. **3) Ancient One- Fynbos Gruit** - this beer is use herbs in stead of hops for flavouring and bittering and as the Southern Right, also uses fynbos (mostly The Wormwood) it has an after taste of dried fruits and caramel and has a ruby colouring to it. It is incredibly refreshing and with 5% alcohol it can be enjoyed in a bigger quantity without it being incredibly filling. **4)Empowered Stout- Sweet Stout** - This is an English sweet stout made up of 5 different malts and 2 hop varieties. It pairs incredibly well with meat dishes and eventhough it is an all year round beer, I prefer this as a Winter beer enjoyed with a pub lunch (which is exactly what we did) **5) Picasso- Pilsner Hybrid** - A very light beer with a bitter finish, 5% alcohol and unique as it is made with their very own Trigger Happy Yeast. <center><center/> The venue offers a one pages menu that have fingerfoods, sandwiches, wraps, salads and other light meals as well as the burgers they are famous for. The meal we ordered was a Platter with freshly baked sour dough bread, homemade butter, chutney and their very own hummus. Jerk chicken wings with a sticky plum sauce, bitterballen and Jalapeno fingers. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared by friendly staff in an open kitchen. They have their very own outside brick bread ovens where they bake fresh bread daily and they have an area where they make, bake and sell pottery as well. The whole venue and staff is one beautiful amalgamation of different flavours, designs and personalities that make Triggerfish a wonderful spot to visit, whether on a Summer's day or in the foggiest of Winter afternoons. Make sure to add them on your list of must visits when you are in the area! <center>.jpg)<center/> <center>**Prost!**<center/>
