<center></center> <hr> Hello everyone! *Pozdrav svima!* The month of December 2022, and the year 2022 is behind us. I hope you all had a great year, and that the 2023 will be even better for all of us. First of all, lets see what new happened in the world of Splinterlands in the last month of past year. First update came on Saint Nicholas day and it brought some "ear candy" in form of new musical tracks and sound effects that were added to the game together with a couple of game mechanics and general updates. But most important event was the start of the daily burning of 25,000 Chaos Legion packs as described in this passed [proposal](https://peakd.com/@sps.dao/sps-governance-proposal-daily-burn-of-unsold-chaos-legion-packs). The other update happened two weeks later and it was a huge one! - Land claims finally arrived! *See [this](https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/the-journey-to-praetoria-begins) article for more details*. - Runi Management page has been added to the game and Runi cards that have been staked to the game in Runi Management are now be playable. - The Rebirth ability has been added to the game with Runi. Rebirth will cause the card to return to life once per battle when it first dies, taking priority before Resurrect would trigger. - Two new Rule sets have been added to the game! "Up to Eleven" will grant all monsters the Amplify ability and "Tis but Scratches" will give all monsters the Cripple ability. - Some other general updates were added And finally - **Winterfest Sale has begun!** - You can get a copy of Arkemis the bear for EACH booster pack purchased in the Splinterlands shop! That includes all Chaos Legion, Riftwatchers, and Tower Defense Nightmare pack purchases. Bonus packs count as well! *See [this](https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/splinterlands-winterfest-end-of-year-promotion) article for more details.* - Sale runs from Dec. 13th 21:00 UTC till Jan. 12th 21:00 UTC. Very exciting month with some huge changes, and I had to take advantage of some of them. <center></center> I have bought myself a nice round 100 Chaos Legion packs, and received 3 Gold Foil Arkemis the bear cards, together with 97 regular foil ones. I've opened 2 dozen of them, just to see if I'll get lucky, but the most valuable cards I got were 1 Quix the Devious and 2 Fungus Fiends. All in all, I think I broke even when you compare the current value of the cards and the current price of CL packs on secondary markets. I have accumulated a decent amount of Merits so I bought and opened 7 gladius packs and this one was the best of them: <center></center> I got my second legendary Gladius card! Awesome neutral card - Tatiana Blayde! <center></center> She's amazing, and her stats and abilities are formidable! I can't wait to use her in my next Brawl! <center></center> During this month I've added about 130 staked SPS to my portfolio, but the SPS price is down again from the same time last month ($0.023 vs $0.040) so the total value of my SPS is just 3 USD more then 30 days ago. Nevertheless, I'm still staking as much SPS as I can. <center></center> <center></center> In the month of November we had 2 seasons - a big round 100th season (and 101st). I played in Modern Silver 1 league for gold season chests. This tactic proved to be more rewarding then playing for silver chests. Season 100 I played mostly in Silver 1 and finished with decent 60% win rate and earned 44 gold season chests, together with 146 daily chests (with an average of 9.7 chests per day). Worst day of my Splinterlands career happened on 6th of December when I lost 8 battles in a row. That never happened to me before. But I pulled myself together and managed to end up with 46% win rate by the end of the day. <center></center> As you can see in the chart below, my SPS earnings were pretty constant (constantly miserable) during the whole season, with a huge jump in the end from EOS chest. <center></center> I hoped that the big round 100th season will reward me with some awesome cards, but the best it did was a GF rare. But I can't really complain since I got a handful of SPS. <center></center> <center></center> In Season 101, like the season before, I played for Gold season chest in Silver 1 league, and the result was on pair with season 100 - 43 season chests (just 1 shy from last season) and 143 daily chests (3 less then last season) with average of 9.5 chests per day. Win rate was a few points lower - 57%. <center></center> SPS earnings in this season were a bit better then the season before, but the EOS chest reward was nowhere near the previous one and that's why the overall impression is underwhelming. <center></center> EOS chest rewards were as bad as after season 100, no interesting cards and pretty miserable SPS haul. SPS earnings would be on the same level as the month before, but that huge reward after season 100 made the difference. <center></center> It is so much easier to track your earning now with the new Currency Activity feature in-game, kudos to Splinterlands developer team for making this happen. <center></center> I explained how to use this feature, export it to Excel and do the calculations with the data in one of my previous posts.
