A little about me: Hi my online name is peter-parker, I’m still in my mid-teens and I’ve been involved in crypto-currencies since 2012 when my uncle gifted me one bitcoin, which at the time wasn’t worth very much. I managed to parlay it into a nice little stake of bitshares (thanks uncle). I’m now looking forward to a steemit experience, I like the idea of sharing info. One of my other areas of interest: old world map by hanciong-d46qusd Do you have any childhood fantasies? One that maybe came to you while getting caught up in a Joules Verne novel like “twenty-thousand leagues under the sea” or “the mysterious island” or “around the world in 80 days”. All fascinating stories that gave us something to daydream about while sitting at our desk in Mr.Boring’s class. Funny thing is, in these “modern times” we live in, an age of flying machines, computing machines and digital currencies, these things aren’t all that far-fetched anymore. Card Now I want to talk to you about the fantasy that I want to turn into a reality, and as I discussed, has become something quite easy to do: taking a trip around the world using only crypto. Okay, sounds a lot like the title of a book, but hopefully it wouldn’t take 80 days. Of course, if you wanted to see everything it would take much longer than Phileas Fogg ever did, but that’s just crazy, out of this world crazy, so I’m going to stay a little closer to earth. Part of the adventure aspect of the trip is that it has to be quick and cheap, and the sleeping arrangements aren’t supposed to be fancy. I mean, I can’t imagine Indiana Jones getting a hotel room and dining at fancy restaurants, so, just saying… Card Because of my geographic position, I’m going to start this off in Zurich. Yes there are so many directions to go, but because of connections and all, the best place for me to go would be the Austrian city of Vienna, beautiful place and depending on the time of year, a train ticket can cost from 60$ to 90$ and take around 8 hours. I think the train is a good way to travel, you can relax, you don’t have to worry about directions, bad drivers or rough roads. Of course, if you’re a little bit younger like in my case, you could get a euro pass or youth pass. One program allows you access to 28 countries for 5 days for only 300$. Card The next part is quickly hopping on a train to Moscow Russia, where you get go a little more north. It’s around a 27 hour trip which, again, depending on the time of year, can cost from 120$ and up. So far, if we calculate optimistically with the cheapest prices, we’ve racked up a bill of about 180$ without food, which I don’t think is bad at all! Card This is the first leg of the journey, so far I’ve gotten from Zurich to Moscow for the price of 180$, but probably a bit more. If you like the idea I’ll come out with the next part of the journey.
