So I was having a stressful day and decided it was a good time to join @lyndsaybowes and take a walk! Lyndsay's master plan to take over the world by getting everyone to take walks in their neighborhoods and take pictures is well under way. Narf! So, I live in the city: But found a lot of beauty in my short walk: We have some interesting trees here. I have always called these ones "bean trees," because they look like they grow giant green beans. They are not native to Colorado. Apparently they are from China and cities imported them (they also imported trees of heaven too and now those are considered invasive species here!): These ones look like they grow giant pea pods: And I just enjoyed the juxtaposition of itty bitty maple tree, leaves bigger than my hand: Lyndsay, you would get along with these neighbors, who garden the median area between sidewalk and street! *yep, that's a pumpkin next to the road.* *and bell peppers.* This house USED to garden the median, but that (super nice!) neighbor moved away, and the new owners let it go wild one year, and then tore it out this year. :( A couple more: And then I got home to find a birdie hanging out at the front door of my building. He was there a few hours ago, too. He is hopping around and seems okay, and birds NORMALLY live in the bushes around the front, but why is he staying on the porch? I'm a little worried about him: And there you have it! Am I a cool kid now? ;)
