There was a time when I kept asking myself why I should persevere in my career. Why should I take on more responsibilities without additional compensation? And why do I keep sacrificing my time and energy for something that may not directly benefit me?

I’ve never been the type to chase money. What fuels me is the sense of growth I get every time I challenge myself. That’s why I don’t complain when more responsibilities land on my desk. I welcome them. Every task is a chance to learn something new, improve a skill, or discover another layer of who I am professionally.

People often measure success by salary or status, but for me, it’s always been about what I’ve accomplished for myself. I push my limits not to impress others, but to become someone I’m proud of. The more I do, the more I understand what I’m capable of. And the truth is, I don’t want to look back one day and realize I only did the bare minimum.

Of course, it gets overwhelming sometimes. But I’ve learned that growth only happens when I step beyond what’s comfortable. That’s where the real wins happen. Not the ones others can see, but the ones that shift something inside me.

So no, it’s not about the money. It’s about becoming better than I was yesterday.

The challenges at work? I don’t see them as burdens. I see them as stepping stones to the version of myself I’m still building. That’s the reward I’m chasing.
