This week I am only juggling two reads, and they are both marvelous! So if you are looking for something to read, I have a couple suggestions:

<b><i>The Collector of Hearts: New Tales of the Grotesque</i> by Joyce Carol Oates</b>
I have always found this author to be immensely creative, and while I love her poetry and haven’t tried my hand at one of her novels, her short stories are among some of my favorites. 
These ones in particular are short stories that fill you with the good kind of melancholy, a distant, ruminative version that (thankfully) belongs only to the fictional characters of Oates's pages. Each story is an exploration of “the grotesque,” each story a waking nightmare, and each one is absolutely riveting and gorgeous. 

<b><i>Tibetan Yoga and Secret Doctrines: Or, Seven Books of Wisdom of the Great Path</i> Arranged and Edited by W.Y. Evan Wentz</b>
Translated by the anthropologist while on his immersive study of the Tibetan culture, this guide to the and physical practices and spiritual teachings of Eastern gurus. I haven’t delved too far into this book right now, but I feel as though it was a divine gift from the universe, sent to me to aid in the deepening of my practice. I had never heard of it before, though I am familiar with a few of Evan Wentz’s other books, then one day it was simply sitting on the side table in the living room. This may seem mystical, but it’s not unusual in a house with thousands of books. However it may have gotten there, I am grateful it did. It’s an enlightening and beautiful read.
