**A US startup company "printed" a complete house in less than a day, using a 3D printer. The small house of 38 square meters was created in Stupino, Russia, and has a bathroom, a living room, a hallway and a fully equipped kitchen.**

**T**he 3D printer from Apis Cor, a San Francisco-based company, has been able to print the walls with a cement mix that is expected to last for 175 years. According to the startup website, the placement of the walls, including the internal divisions of the house, took less than 24 hours. This project had already been announced in December 2016, but has now been completed. **T**he construction was done through Apis Color 3D printing technology, which is unique in the world. The printer has an automatic stabilization and alignment system and therefore does not require much manual preparation before starting work. The printer is small and easy to transport and use. The printing process is automated and virtually eliminates the risk of human error.

**A**fter the walls were printed, a team of contractors installed windows, doors, ceiling and finished the work. In the end, the construction of the house stood for $10134, which is approximate $275 per square meter. The company with the 3D printer, cut costs by at least 70%.

**A**pis Cor says on its website that the house has included a soundproofing system and another of temperature control and that supports temperatures up to minus 60 degrees. The flat roof is still ready to withstand strong snowfalls. **I**n a video, the company explains that although the use of 3D printers in construction is not new, this is the first truly printed house. The other machines print only separate walls and parts of buildings that inevitably have to be assembled later. The walls of this house were all printed on the spot.

________________________________________________________________________________________________
Images source and references : http://apis-cor.com/en/about/news/first-house
