Hi everyone!

I just recently saw the nice challenge initiated by [John Stone Art](https://www.instagram.com/john_stone.art/), on Instagram.
It consists of doing a speed painting every day of August.
Last year, I already took part in it (but he made its challenge in July).
So, when I saw it, I thought it was an opportunity, because it is what I need, because I find it hard to be regular and to motivate myself to do paintings and studies regularly. Also, it will help me to practise environment painting, which is something I really like.

But, as I joined the challenge very late, I will only do a few days of it, some photos that inspire me.

Here was the photo reference of the day :

***Process***

I started with a gradient layer for the sky.

Then, I painted the clouds and the mountains. I took care to set the right values, to simulate the atmospheric perspective. To do this, I used lighter and less saturated colours for the distant mountains (also more blue) and I use more saturated tones the closer it gets to the camera.
I also added a fog effect.

Then, I painted the green part.

Finally, the rocks were a very difficult part.
I can never figure out how to paint them in a speed painting ; because I see them as a very detailed object, I can't figure out how to simplify them without this bad blur effect, which I don't like at all.

So... in the next paintings of the month, I will try to find a better way to paint the rocks, to find a nice graphic solution.

Hope you will like it!

See you very soon for the next paintings of the month. 😊
