If you're following me you already know that I am an SEO enthusiast and I would like to see Hive at the top of Search Engine results. I believe that all users are equally contributing to the platform by adding values to it. According to SEO, stats of Hive is booming and developing day by day. But we need to follow some SEO rules to make the growth fast.

Many of us here started blogging journey in blockchain-based social platform Steemit back in 2017. We all added a lot of value there and that's why according to Domain and Page Authority, Steemit is still one of the best-valued websites in the world of internet. After the rise of the Hive and madness of Justin Sun, Steemit is losing its acceptability fast. But we can't deny the fact that we can still use Steemit for our own good. 

Here, I will try to explain why Steemit is still necessary for the rise of Hive. Let's checkout - 

## Why Steemit is Important for Hive's SEO? 

I don't know what's on your mind, but I am an SEO enthusiast and I evaluated everything in terms of SEO. 

At first, let's have a look at the stats of Hive Blog and Steemit according to SEO.

For ranking on Google DA, PA and number of Do-Follow backlinks matters a lot. And anyone will be jealous to see the growth of Hive Blog within just a few months. Within just a few months we are almost crossing Steemit (A 4 years old site) according to Alexa Ranking. 

But DA of Steemit is 90 out of 100, which still makes it top rated site, and you will use that for our benefits. **The question is, how?**

We will use Steemit to create high-quality backlinks for Hive. Don't worry we won't add value by creating new posts and comments. We will just do some changes to our existing Steemit accounts. And Just by changing some stuff, we can get High-Quality backlinks from High DA website. 

> **Backlink** - If there is a link of your site on another site, it is a backlink for your site. This link could be a link to your site's homepage or any other page. Backlinks are also called incoming links or inbound links. For example, if I write a post on Medium about Hive and provide a link of Hive blog; that means I created a backlink for Hive Blog on Medium.

This plan can be implemented by Steemit users only, who moved away to Hive after the hard fork. New users are also invited to read the article to get a basic idea of SEO. 

## Convert existing Steemit posts to backlinks

But if you search it on Google you'll see Steemit's link at first as it was first posted on Steemit.

Now, here comes the tricky part. If you go to the post on Steemit, you'll find nothing but a backlink of Hive. Because Joshman already edited his post on Hive and redirected traffic to Hive.

That means if someone searches for **"Building A New PC Workstation"** and find Joshman's Steemit article, he/she may click again on Hive's link to read the post. 

This is how you can create quality backlinks using Steemit. And as there are no articles in the indexed Steemit URLs, sooner or later Google crawler bot may replace the result with Hive. This is how we can add value and increase DA, PA, and Backlinks of Hive using the rival platform. 

> Important Note- You can use a tool called **[Steem Pruner](https://hive.blog/steemit/@engrave/steem-pruner-quick-way-to-remove-posts-from-steem-the-censored-blockchain)** to remove your Steemit posts and add Hive's link easily. This tool was developed by @engrave. 

Well, some people are posting on both platforms - Steemit and Hive. It's totally your choice. But you are requested to edit your old posts and add a backlink of Hive. You already got rewards for those Steemit posts and it won't cost anything (Just some time) to edit your Steemit's posts. By doing this you are also increasing the visibility of your Hive Blog's profile. 

## Change Half of Your Steemit Post - 

If you don't want to remove/edit the whole posts by adding Hive's backlink, **no problem!**

You can add keep few paragraphs there at the interesting part finish it by **"Click Here to Read Full Article"**. And add hyperlink of your Hive post in the text. This is also a good way to create quality backlinks. Most of the websites perform this trick to divert their website traffic to another website. 

## Add Some Backlinks Without Changing Anything 

If you don't want to change anything of your existing Steemit posts that's fine. But you can divert your Steemit's traffic to Hive just by creating some backlinks in the existing posts.

For example, you can add some of your old or recent Hive posts to existing Steemit posts external links. It will increase the authority of the Hive blog without changing anything to your Steemit profile. 

So, it's totally up to you how you're going to help Hive blog to rise. But don't forget - no matter which backlink techniques you're following, you are increasing the visibility of your Hive profile as well. 

## Add your Hive Profile link as Website

Go to the Setting of your Steemit account and add your Hive's profile link as your website address (If you already don't have any other website). In this way, you are getting a High-Quality Backlink from High DA website.

Steemit now has 6 million backlinks and Hive has 566k. As I already mentioned everyone in the community is working hard to add value. But there are some easy tricks to help the Hive community. Adding backlinks to Steemit is one of them. 

Most of the veteran users like Joshman, @drakos already applied this trick to their Steemit accounts. But still, the majority of users didn't do it (including me! :/ I'll start editing from this week). 

According to my analysis, even if 50% of the users started applying this trick to their Steemit posts, according to SEO the growth stats of Hive will fly like a rocket!
