Bjork is opening the eyes of many of her supporters to the world of cryptocurrency. The blockchain is definitely making its way strongly into the music industry. This is one step that really helps bring the technology in. The first thing before the technology is ready to be introduced to the world, and that is getting the world to see parts of it in action so that the full effect of it can be visualized before it happens. People can't be sold on something they don't understand. I believe that each step along the path leads to a victory for all of us.

Bjork decided to allow cryptocurrencies as a method of payment for her new album. As an advocate for crypto and for blockchain, Bjork definitely has done us all a favor by using her fame to help push the general populations' frame of reference on what is normal. Cryptocurrency may be new, but it will be the new standard in many respects. I think it will completely take over the operations and basis of contractual agreements in the music industry.

It may seem normal to us Steemians, but using cryptocurrency as a currency is not currently a norm. By allowing these currencies side by side with other fiat currencies, she is making people start to see how the cryptocurrencies are safe and see them as an alternative to regular dollars.

I believe that Bjork is the first major artist to adopt crypto, sell their album and offer cryptocurrency as a currency option, as well as include cryptocurrency with a record. A great thing to be firsts in, but I think it's a sign for what's to come in so many different ways. 

Interestingly enough, audiocoin is designed to reward the artist and the fans simultaneously. Blockpool and One Little Indian Records partnered together in creating a plugin to allow purchases with cryptocurrency.
