@polebird: ❤️ 5 Tips for building your blog! ❤️
Hi my lovely Steemians! I’ve been on Steemit since October, and although I am by no means an expert, I want to share some tips and insight for newcomers that may help you succeed in your steemit blogging journey – if you so choose to blog! Just a little background about me, I have never blogged before Steemit, and I don't have any other big social accounts. I've recently just reached 1000 followers since joining the site. These tips are listed in no particular order of importance.

# #1. Interact with other Steemians and become part of the community
I know that I said above that these tips are not in order of importance, but I should say that interaction is the number one key! Steemit is a social crypto platform, so be social By taking time to make meaningful comments, you really can make friends across the world on Steemit. This becomes a mutual support system and definitely keeps your Steemit life interesting, not to mention gives you more reason and fuel to be persistent in your Steemit journey! Steemit really is all about the connections! Interacting is not limited to comments – join steemit chat or discord communities. Contests are another great way to get started in the community, and you may win some Steem or SBD!

# #2. The cover photo & title are important, so choose wisely
Is your cover photo eye-catching? Your cover photo will be the first photograph you use in your post. Think about it from the perspective of when you are browsing articles and posts. Would you stop to check out your own post? Personally I think using vibrant colors that pop will catch a reader's attention. Sometimes I like to put eye catching titles. I think it makes your post stick out a little from the rest. There are so many posts to scroll through on the feed. Another detail to consider when choosing a photo for the cover is whether you are using a vertical or horizontal photo. Horizontal photos work better generally, because vertical photos will get cut off unless you edit the photography to have bars on the side which would really shrink the size of your photo. Despite this issue, I sometimes still use a vertical photo as the cover if I really like a photo. On the phone, vertical photos do not get cut off.

# #3. Become a Dtuber
Get creative and make some videos! Videos can even be filmed on the phone. Dtube is an amazingly supportive platform and continues to grow daily. I was able to grow my following a lot after getting into dtube – AND I’ve had the best time sharing and creating my videos. I even did a whole dtube sisters Olympics series with @karensuestudios – that was definitely a lot of fun! Also, you probably know I love sharing my pole combos and new tricks from class. :D

# #4. Consistency is key for growth
Consistency with posting, commenting, and replying really helps you grow your following. Putting more quality posts on Steemit daily will increase your chances of getting exposure. I treat my Steemit blogging seriously, so I put aside time every night to prepare posts and content. I also set aside some time during the day to reply to comments or check in on chat. I will admit it gets quite busy balancing Steemit, life, pole, and friends/family, so some days I may have more time than others. Haha, I also try to multi task sometimes - steem and stretch at the same time! Set a goal for yourself for the frequency of articles or videos you would like to produce. If you have more free time in one sitting to devote to blogging, you can put together several articles, and post them to Steemit at a later time.

# #5. Entice followers with awesome content
Are you producing quality and interesting content? Not only will quality content attract more followers to your blog, but it will better Steemit as a whole. Seeing quality content when browsing the site will attract new users to Steemit, and intrigue them to join - which is totally what we want! Look for a niche or community you can contribute to. There are so many options for topics, and you should experiment to see how the community reacts. I like to mix my topics up – travel, photography, pole, fitness, yoga, acro yoga, motivation, art … and I have more to add just to keep it interesting! What are you passionate about - let your passions and personality shine through the internet and shoot off the screen to your reader! Please, no plagiarism! Original content is definitely the most sought after by curators.

I hope you find these insights I’ve gathered from my time here on Steemit useful. Thank you for taking the time and reading. Steem to the moon and beyond!
