I normally don't write these type of posts, but after spending hours searching for others who may have written on this (including on Github) and drawing a blank I am taking the advice of a witness I asked about this and writing a post on one of the larger of the glitches. 

It was several months ago that I first noticed it that some I follow would just randomly drop off of my follow list, their posts one day not showing in my feed. I am unsure how many this happened with but I noticed when a really prolific poster suddenly wasn't showing in my feed. Not having proof, I kept it to myself. I will say at this time i checked Steemd.com and there was no record of my unfollowing despite several of his posts from the day before still being in my feed. 

So last night, I saw I had lost a couple more people who follow me, and decided to check who they were. My go to site SteemWorld doesn't say who unfollows me, so I logged onto Steemd.com for the first time in awhile. Imagine my surprise when I saw one of the witnesses I vote for was no longer being voted for by me. This was even easier for me to see right away, as I currently only vote for 5 witnesses, and his vote was one of my first and out of all of them the one I would keep if I could only have one. How could this happen? What the hell?

So I am hoping someone who is a witness or involved with Steemit.inc or better yet @ned or @netuoso (you were referred to me) can explain what is going on here. I was getting ready to write my how to book on Steem and Steemit, but I really need this figured out before I go pitching this to others. I did find someone else over a month ago who also noticed this with people he followed, the exchange I had with him on his post can be found here:

My worries regarding this goes deeper than people being unfollowed and witnesses losing votes that belong to them, although those are big deals. My bigger worry is this.

If somehow the votes and follows can disappear and sites like Steemd see no record of the event, what does this mean as far as everything stays forever on the chain? Does this mean my wallet assets can be changed without there being a record of it? I want to emphasize that I have never seen a discrepancy in my wallet, but if the other things can be altered without it being seen, does this mean anything, even wallet transactions can be? 

I am hopeful that my last question can be easily shown to be impossible and my ignorance is showing by asking, but I do not understand blockchain enough to see why one could happen and not the other. 

The last glitch I have noticed which is really minor compared to the others is I am unable most of the time to give a full 100% upvote. I get an error message saying something about zero values and have to give a 99% vote.
