The Onslaught Of Fear Narrative Is Over The Top
It's amazing to watch the narrative being doled out from most every institution in regards to the Corona event we find ourselves in. Whether you find yourself on the side of fear where you want to avoid everyone, or you believe this is an overblown hoax, the narrative is beyond absurd at times regardless of where you may fall.

In recent weeks I have had several online businesses I have utilized send me emails detailing how they are keeping me safe on their end from Corona. Businesses that are only interacted with online. I open each one incredulous, as the implications would be that I can somehow catch Corona through my internet connection to their site. It becomes obvious at a certain point that the goal is to push Corona fear into every corner they can, by any means necessary.

As they continue to shut the economy down, force travel to be extremely limited they have enacted here in the U.S. a means for most to continue paying their bills through the stimulus (making the great grand-kids pay as the national banks gobble up more of the national treasures with their loans), many even finding themselves getting a raise from when they were working. I liken it to the pacifier method. Just keep calm while we continue pressing ahead with how we are going to keep you safe by enacting all these new measures.

The hysteria that has been built by the media and public figures seem to defy the known statistics if one understands how skewed they are based on the lack of testing and data methods some have claimed are being used.

The fear is real in many of my neighbors, as I see people ensuring social distancing not because ordered, but from fear you can see in their eyes. I don't hold it against any who feel this way as I can only imagine the bombardment those who are connected to any form of 24/7 ~~propaganda~~ news channels.

The recent example of this that prompted this post just left me shaking my head at the crafters of narrative, and their estimation on the gullibility of their supporters.

The link I'm about to share is about fourteen inmates who escaped a county jail in Washington state last Tuesday. Eight of the inmates had already been recaptured at the time the article was written, with six still at large. In a video Yakima County Sheriff Robert Udell posted on Facebook, he actually said the following.

>"They decided they were going to break down the door and leave. Despite the governor’s shelter-in-place or stay-at-home order, apparently they didn’t want to do that so they are out and about."

I laughed so hard when I read that. A real LOL moment. Imagine that. Criminals who may have committed crimes for which they were facing hard time ignoring the Gubners shelter in place/stay at home notice. What's the world coming to when these criminals pick their shot at freedom and ignore public safety. They just don't make criminals like they used to.

I have to wonder (I didn't see the actual video reported on) how many takes the sheriff needed to say that with a straight face. I bet their still laughing at their boss in the patrol cars these many days later.

Forget these guys may have been violent people. They are extra bad because they are out in public when the gubner said not to be. All I can do is shake my damn head.

I think regardless of what the truth is regarding this Corona thing, it's important we keep our heads about us. Based on the freedoms being (temporarily?) stripped from us, the industries being closed it is more important than ever to not turn over our thinking to others. I'm not suggesting those of us who aren't doctors or viral specialists extend advice unsolicited or represent being an expert when we aren't. I am suggesting it is crucial to keep your wits about you, and if critical thinking is not a strong suit to flex it anyway. Look at numbers if you need to. Look at similar situations and do comparisons. Or if that's beyond your estimation of your abilities, turn to those you are close to who have kept their wits about them and are critical.

But please, stop cultivating the gardens of your mind with this nonstop onslaught of propaganda designed to grow crops of fear in your most sacred garden. Being in fear will not change anything in your favor, or those you love. Fear would have one be reactive, and you are worth more than being subject to reactions other than in situations that directly call for it. Listening to the fear being spread in stories such as above is definitely not a situation that called for it.

Uncertainty is often a platform for fear. Those who are able to pause themselves while in its clutches are where stories of triumph will manifest from. Do not let them use the uncertainty they are magnifying consume you. It is up to you what you allow to [bind](https://hive.blog/philosophy/@practicalthought/enslaved-by-the-perception-masters) to yourself.

If ever there was a good time to understand your [true potential](https://hive.blog/philosophy/@practicalthought/the-totality-of-self), now is that time.
