Badami - architectural excellence
![ntopaz-image-0](https://artisteem.io/media/2250ace2-4004-44ed-b345-45cf20acef59)Badami - an architectural excellence

The other side of the rock cut architecture.
This tiny muntapam has been built in chalukya period.
The Badami got its name from the color of the rocks, The color of the rocks look so similar to Badam. The earlier name of the place is Vatapi, The capital of Chalukyas.

Some time earlier I had posted about the lake and the 5 caves of Badami rock cut temples.
The photograph you are seeing today is at the end of the huge rocks.

The small mantapa formation is built on a huge rock behind the Bhootanatheswara temple.

Nikon D5300

The small mantapa looks like it's hard to access. Feels good that it's hard and it remains untouched from tourists.

The city of Badami has many such smaller mantapa/temple structures.

Please do visit and you'll love it.
Have a great day
