I just couldn't stop laughing at myself realizing how I made a fool of myself this morning. Wait! Should I have said that to myself? Perhaps, it was something I didn't know or just didn't remember we used it for something else. Let me just use the word "unknowingly" to save me from seeing myself that way.

You know that feeling you get when you have been doing something unknowingly and you found out how crazy you'd been all these while when you realize what actually happened or caused it? 
</div>

The natural hair I did since the 12th of December before travelling was still on me till yesterday afternoon and I pleaded with my sister to help me lose it, so I can wash it today as I couldn't stand the awful smell I was perceiving. No one could say it was smelling and I wouldn't blame them for that. 
</div>

I planned to wash it with warm water as a preamble so that I can retouch normally when I go back to my place, at least I won't be feeling dirty perceiving my lovely hair. I could have made a new one if there had been a good hairstylist in my village but no one as of this moment. What a sad story!

Waking up early this morning and did all chores including making breakfast for those at home, the electricity went off at that hour and I had to resort to using the firewood to boil the water for my hair. Hurriedly, I went to pick a pot *<sup>(the only kettle we have at home can't be used on the firewood)*</sup> to serve the purpose not knowing something would happen later.

**How could I have known when I was just in a hurry to wash my hair before anything else distract me?**

The water boiled after some minutes which I used that time to wash some clothes.

I poured the water, took it to the bathroom, and took my soap and a towel in drying my hair after washing. I started washing and humming a sweet song in my mind. I felt relieved doing this and I knew my hair would thank me for remembering to give it that little treatment. It will also give me a cool feeling too. 
</div>

While washing my hair, I noticed my eyes were peppering me. It was normal at first since soap latte can enter your eyes in that process, I took some water from the bucket to rinse it. Shouldn't the pain stop then? Instead, it was as if I was adding more fuel to the fire making the flame stronger. 
</div>

What could be wrong? I asked myself but I kept rinsing with the same water in the bucket. It got to a point, I thought some spirits were after me, perhaps they are jealous of my amazing soft hair.

At a point, it wasn't funny anymore because the eyes were paining me more and it was as if I added pepper to my water. How was that possible? Will the pepper remove dandruff from my hair or makes it grow? I think @merit.ahama can answer that part 🥴
</div>

Then I stopped using water and took my towel to rub my eyes, still, there were no changes. At one point, I decided to take water straight from the tap to see what was going on. I mixed cold water from the tap with the hot one, could it be that there was pepper from the tap? Let's experiment then! 
</div>

Taking the water from the tap and rinsing my eyes, the pepper in my eyes cleared off immediately and that was the time I realized and remembered the pot I used to boil the water, it was the one we used to boil a large amount of pepper some days ago. I didn't know as I was just in a hurry then. 
</div>
