cosmos
Perfect documentary about the history of our planet and life on it.
It has two versions, one hosted by Carl Sagan in 1980, and modern version "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" is released in 2014 and hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson (student of Carl Sagan)
Great scientists and their inventions, explorations which drives modernization of civilization take place in episodes frequently.
I think it should given to students as a course in every school, to help them gain more clear perspective about the life on earth and our possession on it as humankind.

Ends with splendid note from Carl Sagan, which reliefs anybody and immediately drives them to reconsidering their current posessiın & expectations from life.
By showing how big the universe and how small we are; and how much we exaggerate things that we are chasing when in fact how worthless they are.
