Not an Away-Teams tester? Our developer is currently scouting some new communicative testers. So some lucky new players with a good rating in *Conversation* might be contacted tomorrow. We already got our first taste of investigating a wildlife. So today, why don't we discuss resources?  ## Resources  *Exploitable resources on planet Casrarene* Your resources are your vegetation, ore, and minerals. **Vegetation** will likely be a source of more biofragments/biochemicals for use in crafting to create things like medicine or other drugs. I presume vegetation may also be a source of food. I have to be careful with this, particularly with any that I might find in the Susas Sunplains since one of my planetary dangers is inedible food. Theory: if the animals eat the plants, does that make them inedible too, like the monarch caterpillar? Perhaps I need to stop drawing Earthly conclusions on this alien world. (All speculation ends here, as the following information came straight from the developer!)  **Ore** is more abundant when compared to minerals. It serves as a construction material with some *"structure components"* being made entirely of ore. Not all ores are created equal. Some may be more brittle than others, and therefore suited to different "construction groups". Imagine building a habitat, bunker, or some other defensive structure like a wall using ores. Ores also have different affinities. Some may only or mostly be found at a certain depth. Ore may also have an affinity for a certain or even several minerals. <div class="pull-right"> https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/proto26/23tSKzhBmiPCHrLZqurCJ9NEDF9zg7MCVhLsuN2YtFWP98uiDzbeLUDkLrH9EgEArZv7d.png </div> **Minerals** will be harder to find than ores. They will be utilized to create rare alloys, components and in complex modules. They can be gemstones or not as well as metallic or non-metallic. If minerals have an affinity with an ore, as mentioned above, they will usually be found *within* that ore. Minerals also have an affinity for a certain depth, with increased chances to find them there. Be sure to bring a drilling machine (along with some power) in order to be able to reach those deepest and rarest resources. Investigating resources won't come in the next update, but it might possibly come after that. Current development is focusing on refining wildlife and wildlife combat. I have already queued investigations for all my wildlife so of course my attention and excitement has shifted to resources. I also wanted to get this information out there to people not in the eXode discord yet (link to join below) or those who are but might have missed it, before it gets lost or (at least temporarily) forgotten about.  ## Other Developments Social events will be implemented into investigative missions in a future update! Perhaps your team stops for a short break and some conversation occurs. Each character will fit into a certain basic lifestyle type that will be color coded between either red, green, and blue. Red and blue will be polar opposites with green being able to tolerate both to some degree. Don't worry though as there are also other personality details to be taken into consideration, meaning a "red" person can still be good friends with someone who is "blue". ### Acquisitions? No new acquisitions I didn't already have. There is still one Alpha card I'm looking for. I have three but need four. Do you know what I'm talking about? If you guessed The Rebellion Secrets (they knew), you guessed correctly. This is one of eXode's most highly coveted card (besides the promo cards). I need one base copy and three extras to burn to in order to fully upgrade it. Once fully upgraded, you can get achievement rewards from a special *Rebels* drop table, *if* you load it on your ship and succeed at EVAC that is.
