When we are face to face, the world separates,
it feels like we are on opposite poles. 
Me in the south, safely tucked away,
And you in the north, still reaching. 
I fear the shrinking distance,
The collapse of the earth.
When it is complete
Where will we stand?
and of me?

The honeyed promise of embrace is treason,
Is enough to scatter me to the hills,
A disembodied flight for my life,
Aimless journeys to get away,
And keep my fading distance. 
Even in these mountains
Your skin stretches out.
When it arrives,
What of me?

When we touch, will I transform entirely?
Will my skin peel to reveal the new me,
Or the cowardice underlying?
There are chances and there are risks
That I will lose everything
And the world will go gray.
Then it will be me,
Gluing myself
Together. 

Again.
