# <center>Parched Rainbow</center>
the sky is barren
murmurations have landed
settled to tree
nested for pyrotechnics
then rest
on edict
dusk demands
the horizon
and its extremities
empty of all but color
tincture blend
sanguine and coral
blood and bone
bled and pounded
indigo sheaths
beaten and sapped
cured and smoke
embers offer
a hazy
but impressive
reflection
particles spark
pigment set on fire
a parched rainbow
ends a scorched day

*Sunset is a very special time. It delivers an amazing offering of color most days, pastel clouds and a rainbow horizon; fiery reds slowly morph into indigo and inky purple. Even on a cloudy evening, a myriad of softer hues blend to soften what might otherwise be seen as gloom. One need only pause and look to see the sky remind her there is beauty just about everywhere.

hot asphalt
sunny-side up, to black
I choke back the fumes
*Hopefully it isn't quite that hot where you are and you are instead enjoying a lazy, but fine summer, full of just-right breezes and cool-enough to sleep evenings.

a deviant bloom
faces the breeze
eavesdrops
on a south-westerly
*A Gossip will take on all sorts of unnatural poses to gain ear shot on the skinny, on somebody else's business, turning her face from the sun and into the wind to do so.

a crimson sponge, smears
iridescence on marine
dimmed by a pale moon
*There is a painting offered, on a very limited showing, available most evenings that would make Monet and Van Gogh weep with envy.

a flicker chisels
at my wholly willow
totem idolater
*I have a woodpecker, and not actually a flicker, who visits my Birch Willow and keeps it free of pests; it also creates a piece of art with its chiselling away, not dissimilar to the story trees human create.

turn in the stream
revel rhapsodically
in rivulet and current
in frequency and resound, in the abundance
flow through the mind/scape of the gardener
the conductor, architect, and zen practitioner
my petals and buds
flutter in the mistrals
tremble from the tattoo
of a brusk cloud burst
my roots appreciate
the rhythm and harmony
the swollen symphony
the melody and wash
*Get out there every day, Hivelanders, Nature is healer, muse, and a fellow artist and performer. Music and the ultimate mis-en-scene is created with but a sigh from Gaia. Every day is different than the day before and seeing something new makes it all worth it.
