Hello, Hivelanders. Before I get to my own work I would like to share some exciting new with you. Well, I think it is exciting. We have a new worker bee joining the HIVE. I hope you will help me welcome @baccusbee to our community. She buzzed over from X, where she is a frequent member of the poetry and writing community. I hope too she will flourish over here. >A realization I made in discussion with another poet as to why social situations can exhaust some of us. Being neurodivergent, we are often accused of not picking up on social cues. In many cases, we pick up more, not just facial, but body language, voice, timing and tone; and we recognize patterns quickly. We read subtext and understand, subconsciously or not, that humans are always jockeying for position in their social groups; most cannot help it and this makes social interactions for those of us who do realize this ... a task, an emotionally painful one, at times; we see through façades and intent. It is like a conversational game of Risk. And of course it is tiring. We good?
