Every Promises Comes with Commitment and Responsibility.
<div class=text-justify>

We all have those shared experiences when we got promises from our uncles, aunts and other adults around us but never got the promises. Most of it were fake promises to keep up happy or stop us from asking repeatedly. Some of us didn't forget this promises and who made them. And I think that one thing the adults got wrong then, playing on kids ignorance to make promises they never intend to fulfill. Promises are debt and are responsibilities, something that shouldn't be played with because the one who the promise is told to will be expectant and hopeful to receive.

I barely make promises because I am conscious that it's form of responsibility and commitment. I try to avoid making one if it would be difficult to fulfill it.

The last promise I broke was when I told a lady that I will patronize her. She sews and sells really good vintage shirts that meets the general standard. I am part of the musician in my church and we were looking forward to adding another uniform to our wardrobe and I suggested vintage shirts, everyone agreed. I told them I have a friend that sews well and we will have the benefit to pick sizes and same design of vintage shirts. I told this particular friend, a lady, about it and I emphasized on the fact that we are looking forward to getting it early this year.

Well, few things changed our plans and we couldn't continue our plan towards adding another uniform to our wardrobe. I had already secured a good deal with my friend plus discount since we will be getting up to 12 or 13 vintage shirts. I really felt bad because I know how it feels to be expectant as a creative or business owner. I had to explain why we couldn't seal the deal with her.

The last time someone broke a promise made to me was two months ago. My uncle somehow had always complained to my parents that I don't call or ask him for help, he would always say that each time we meet at any family function. I am not the type to aks such, not pride but I find it quite difficult to say it. So, last year November I finally agreed to mom's plea to maybe visit this my uncle. During the university break, I traveled to his place since his house is in the state where my school is. I enjoyed my 2 weeks stay there, everything was good except for power supply. I took enough foodstuffs back to school when I was leaving his place.

He was so happy that I came and also sent me money few times, which really helped me. Two months ago, we spoke about how things have been and how I couldn't get foodstuffs because of the unreasonable spendings required by the school authorities. He promised to help, a month passed and I reminded him. I called the following month to remind him and he said he will be passing through a particular road in town not too far from my school, asked if I could come get the foodstuffs from him and I told him certainly, I will.

I called my uncle a day before the agreed day, my uncle pleaded with me that I shouldn't be angry that the company's bus won't be taking tne route he mentioned to me. I was so sad because a week earlier I started to put my trust in his words since he made a valid point that he would be in town. I banked on his words but ws disappointed.

He made promise to try his best to findr a way around it but I don't think I'm going to call or text him anymore. He obviously did not intend to disappoint but things happened. And that's some valid reasons to break a promise. Some unexpected event or circumstances can cause a break of promise.
