Last week, I had the pleasure of guiding two clients to Leke-Leke Waterfall, a lesser-known but captivating spot in Bali 🌴. Despite being a tour guide for a long time, there are always new places for me to discover. This waterfall is just an example of such a place.

When we arrived at the site, a friendly girl behind the entrance ticket counter explained the way down to the waterfall. She also mentioned that the ticket includes a 10 percent off coupon at the restaurant located at the start of the way down. Hmm, that's a creative way to promote a restaurant, I thought 💡. 

The path was a bit challenging in some parts, but there are a lot of stairs built by the locals. We only had to trek down a dirt path after some time when arriving in the forest 🌳.


Walking through the forest, we finally encountered a bamboo bridge over a river. The girl at the counter mentioned, once we pass the bamboo bridge, the path will go up for a while, and then down. That's the end of the trek 🏞️.

As we got closer to the end of the trek, I began to hear the sound of water splashing on rocks. Then, I saw the waterfall slowly emerge from between the bushes. The sounds of kids playing in the shallow stream below the waterfall became clearer 👧🧒. There were about ten or so visitors at the waterfall.

While we were there, we saw a heartwarming moment 😍. A man proposed to his girlfriend in front of the waterfall 💍. I thought I only saw scenes like this in videos on YouTube or Instagram, but this was real life. (Note: proposing to a girl this way is not the tradition in Bali.) It was a touching scene. Everyone cheered for them 🎉.

Leke-Leke Waterfall may not be as well-known as others. But it is a peaceful and beautiful spot to visit in Bali. The serene surroundings and the joy of discovering a hidden gem make it a memorable experience. It is perfect for anyone seeking a break from the tourist crowds .(at least until the time this post was written)
