A tip to write a bug free blog!!

What does it take to write a bug-free code?

Good Communication skills

Great content.

Good grammar knowledge.

And the confidence to write it.

Great content comes from a person, so it's a difficult thing to control. And rest of the above can be improved by lots and lots of practice. It seems be the straight way of achieving things. But, in today's world there are few enablers available with us which can actually helps us in improving our skills in any possible manner. Today, I want to share my personal experience of overcoming above things by using a simple browser plugin: Grammarly and have recommended this to lots of people who are in touch with me. So, I thought of putting it on Steemit as well, so that people who read this blog and face the above problems can be benefited.

Grammarly:

It is a service provided by Grammarly which looks for correction of your sentences, grammar, punctuations, spelling, word to choose etc. It is simply available as a browser's plugin.

How to start?:

Go to https://www.grammarly.com/.

As per browser, it will ask you to "Add to Chrome" or some another browser(that you will be using). Click on that link.

After that, it will ask you to complete a small signup form after asking some questions.

Fill that sign-up form and select the type of service you are looking for. I have chosen the free one. So, now we are all set with account creation.

Add an extension to the browser:

Go to hamburger symbol(right top), select "More tools" and then extension. Or select extension from tools>>extension of the browser menu option available.

On extension page, scroll down to the bottom and click on "Get more extension"

Search for "Grammarly" and it will list you down few extensions. Click on "Add to Chrome" for "Grammarly for Chrome" extension.

It will download the extension and will ask you to reboot the chrome. just close Chrome and open it again.

So, you are all set with extension as well :). We are good to go now.

How to use:

Now, Grammarly, our partner in good writing is with us and will take care of what we type in many of the websites. Example: while writing an email, you just click on compose an email and start writing. It will start giving you suggestions about the corrections which can be done.

If we are use to write on some notepad and then paste our content to a site or email, then Grammarly gives us a great list of corrections in one go.

What if Grammarly does not for for a website:

In those cases, we have multiple options

Either copy your content. Go to gmail, paste it in compose email. Correct your post by using Grammarly and paste it back.

Or login to "https://app.grammarly.com" and it will give you an option of creating a new file or upload a file option. You can upload your notepad, world file there or can copy-paste your content. Grammarly will again tell you about correction needs to be done and you can paste it back to wherever required.

Weekly/Monthly reports:

At the en of every week, it provides us great insight and stats of how we used Grammarly over an email through which you signed up.

Gives you an insight of where you stand in terms of using unique words and some other stats across the users who uses Grammarly. By seeing our progress week by week helps in growing the confidence.

Note:

While writing a post on steemit, Grammarly works in "Raw HTML" mode, which does not provide any formatting. "Editor" mode which provides us formatting is not supported by Grammerly. So, Write your blog somewhere else first. Use any of the option from "What if Grammarly does not for for a website" points and feel the power of writing bug free blogs :)
