Miners, clad in sweat-soaked gear, swing pickaxes and shovels in dimly lit tunnels, chipping away at jagged rock walls to unearth gleaming digital coins. Dust clogs the air, flickering lanterns cast eerie shadows, and the ground rumbles with the threat of collapse. Each strike is a gamble—hours of backbreaking labor for a handful of Bitcoins, all while racing against rival crews in a subterranean battle for fortune. In the world of fantasy, this explanation of Bitcoin mining is perfectly valid and we can see it also in my picture, which I would like to show you today... </div> <div class="pull-right">  Hallo Hivaner 🖖 Danke fürs Reinschauen. :-) Unter der unnachgiebigen Erdkruste erweist sich das Bitcoin-Mining als eine harte, körperliche Tortur, die mit der Mühsal der Gold- oder Eisengewinnung mithalten kann. Bergleute, gekleidet in Schweiß getränkter Ausrüstung schwingen Spitzhacken und Schaufeln in schwach beleuchteten Tunneln und hacken sich an zerklüfteten Felswänden ab, um schimmernde digitale Münzen auszugraben. Staub vernebelt die Luft, flackernde Laternen werfen unheimliche Schatten, und der Boden rumpelt, weil er einzustürzen droht. Jeder Schlag ist ein Glücksspiel - stundenlange, harte Arbeit für eine Handvoll Bitcoins, während man gegen rivalisierende Crews in einem unterirdischen Kampf um das Glück antritt. In der Welt der Fantasie, ist diese Beschreibung des Bitcoin-Minierens durchaus zulässig und spiegelt sich auch in meinem Bild wieder, das ich dir heute zeigen möchte... </div> ---  --- <div class="pull-left">  ## About my picture I got the idea for this when I tried to explain to a friend how Bitcoin works. Then I learned that until then, he actually imagined the creation of bitcoins to be more of a physical process. In other words, similar to mining gold in a mine. I found this quite funny on the one hand, but also very inspiring, as you can see now in my picture. :-) </div> <div class="pull-right">  ## Über mein Bild Die Idee hierzu bekam ich, als ich einem Kumpel erklärte, wie Bitcoin funktioniert. Dabei erfuhr ich, dass er sich das Erzeugen von Bitcoins, bis dahin eigentlich, als eher physischen Prozess vorstellte. Also ähnlich dem Goldabbau in einer Mine. Ich fand das einerseits recht lustig, aber auch sehr inspirierend, wie man nun an meinem Bild sehen kann. :-) </div> --- <div class="pull-left">  ## Materials and creation I modeled and arranged the scene completely in Blender 3D with the help of procedural materials. Later I finished the rendering in GIMP. In GIMP then I mainly made color and light corrections and added the effects of increased humidity. On January 7th, 2025, I started working on this picture. It actually was finished on January 8th - but I didn't quite like it yet. So the day before yesterday I still tinkered around in it a little. Später habe ich das Rendering in GIMP fertiggestellt, In GIMP habe ich hauptsächlich Farb- und Lichtkorrekturen durchgeführt und die Effekte hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit hinzugefügt. Am 7ten Januar 2025, habe ich mit der Arbeit an diesem Bild begonnen. Es war eigentlich am 8ten Januar fertig - Jedoch gefiel es mir noch nicht ganz. So habe ich vorgestern noch ein wenig darin herumgeschraubt.
