*Over the years I have always wondered why my parents refused to give me a native name, I have always heard my friends being called by their native name on several occasions, especially when they are at home but for me, it is different, I am not even sure i have a native name at all or my parents just don’t like the idea of having a native name lol, I guess my parents are to be held responsible for that part of my life…*

*These are the names I was given by my parents since birth, I have just 3 beautiful and fortunate names that I know of and they are **Abdulqudus, Oluwaseyi and Oluwatemitope**, **Salami is my father’s father name** and it was passed down to my fathers generation and he made it our surname…*

*This is the most interesting part of having a name, a man’s identity comes from the name he or she is given…*

*It is indeed a fact that every name out there in the world has a meaning or two and it is not different from mine…*

*As you all can see, my first name is a Muslim name, this is because I come from a Muslim background, I am a born and brought up Muslim but along the line, I converted to Christian and that was how i started getting addressed differently by some people but that doesn’t change the fact that I come from a Muslim family…*

*Abdulqudus is without a doubt my first name, it is a Muslim name and it is one of the ninety nine names of Allah, since I was born into a Muslim family, my father is a Muslim and my mother was also a Muslim at that time, I was named **ABDULQUDUS** as a first name, Abdulqudus means **servant of the most holy**, it can be called **Abdul Qudoos or Al-qudus**…*

*As you can see, my name means something special, imagine sharing a name with one of the great prophet of the holy Quran, it is a great honor and privilege*…

*This my second given name, this name is a Yoruba name, it is not just an ordinary name, it is a very special name because it has a very unique meaning and attachment too it…*

*Oluwaseyi  means **God has done it**, this name of mine can be called in different ways, different attachments can be added to make beautiful and unique meanings, there is **Oluwaseyifunmi, Oluwaseyifunmilayo**, these two names means **God has done it for me and God has done it to make me happy**, I just love this my name so much and I feel blessed to have such name…*

*This my third name, this is my favorite name out of all the names I was given by my parents, it means a lot to me and to the people that calls me each and every day, I just feel blessed and special when I am being called this name…*

*Oluwatemitope means a great deal to me, it means **My own is worthy of thanks**, this is a very unique meaning my name has, I think my parents sat down and ate something tasty to come up with this name for me hehe*…

*I am just happy to be named well, I know some of my friends that have funny but unique names but for me, my name is unique, beautiful and special and I am blessed 😇…*

*In summary, Salami is my surname and also my last name, I don’t know the meaning of my surname but according to the dictionary, it means food lol 😂 but apart from that, I don’t know much about my grand fathers name 😉…*

*I think my name is just perfect the way it is, I don’t need any attachment or removal from it and till today I keep on thanking my parents for naming me well because my name brings me **COMFORT, JOY and PEACE** when it is being called…*

*In conclusion, I am happy with the names I have and I think my sons will be having something similar in the near future…*
