<div class="text-justify"> ***Hello There*** It feels good to be back with a presentation of another successful battle. Last week was quite a busy one for me and I couldn't make it to the weekly battle presentation. Nevertheless, here I am this week to discuss a ruleset with title the keep your distance. If you are joining me, please do the needful by creating a splinterlands account and joining the weekly battle mage secrets. To participate in the battle mage secrets for this week, kindly get yourself acquainted with the rules by visiting the announcement post at the spl community feed or clicking [here](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/battlemagesecrets-july-26-2023) for easy navigation --- # <center>Keep Your Distance Ruleset</center> <center></center> The keep your distance ruleset prohibits the use of melee attack monsters which gives room for only magic & ranged attack monsters to be used in the battle. These two enabled monster-type fights from a distance, unlike the melees which fight by making contact with its targets. Preparing for a battle such as keeping your distance requires a strategy that affects magic and ranged damage and also requires a strong defense against the aforementioned monster types. --- # <center>Battle Strategy</center> For this battle, the strategy used was solely reliant on magic attack monsters. On the battlefield is a six-team member of alike monsters with defense and attack of high quality. Starting from the front monster, the counterspell, and void ability it possessed was a weapon against the enemy's magic attack monster. Even with these abilities, the front-row monster can still be easily eliminated but the inclusion of dual silence from the fourth and fifth monsters brought out the effectiveness of the abilities possessed by the defending monster. Other abilities such as heal, tank heal, triage, and taunt played a crucial role in the success of the battle. The taunt monster which served as a distraction, drew all attack to itself while being healed by the triage ability. The enemy who put up a ranged defense by using an anti-ranged attack monster didn't have any defense against my magic side. # <center>The Battle</center> |Battle Details|| |------------|------------| | Ruleset | Keep Your Distance: Monsters with melee attack may not be used in battle. & True Aim: Attacks always hit their targets. | | Mana Cap | 51 | | Available Elements | Earth & Dragon | | Battling Elements | Dragon Vs Earth | <center>[Watch Battle Here](https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_7f0566e85972c0dbafaa1eb580fd08e2&ref=queenpriscilla)</center> --- # <center>Team Selection</center> Summoner: OBSIDIAN Rarity/Element: Rare/Earth Stats: +1 Magic damage✔️ Just as mentioned before, the battle only includes magic and melee attack monster, therefore one has to choose which way to go or if possible, go both ways. For my team selection, Obsidian was chosen because the strategy in mind was a magic one however, a magic enhancer summoner is required. Obsidian increased the damage of all friendly magic monsters by one. <div class="pull-left"> PRISMATIC ENERGY All the way from the neutral family, the monster Prismatic Energy was selected for the defending role. This is because it possesses both counterspell and void ability, both of which are a problem to opposition magic monsters. While on the battlefield this monster and its teammate didn't enjoy the benefit offered by their summoner until the elimination of the silence ability monster from the enemy's team. </div> <div class="pull-right"> KRON THE UNDYING Following directly behind the defender is Kron the Undying. This monster was chosen for its high magic damage which came with other benefits such as possessing a healing ability. Undying was placed directly behind the front-row monster because it is the next monster that may be suitable for the defending role. If used for defending, its healing ability and probably tank heal ability from the back-line monster will pose a great threat. </div> --- <div class="pull-left"> QUEEN MYCELIA Queen Mycelia's importance to this battle can never be neglected. One monster offers three crucial battle-winning abilities. Mycelia announced her presence with the offer of triage, amplification, and protection ability. Her triage ability ensured the refilling of the health of the most damaged friendly monster while she uses her protection ability to secure each of the team members with two armor. For a ruleset that favors mostly magic attack monsters, Mycelia brought in an amplification ability that gave the opponent's magic monster much larger damage on reflect </div> <div class="pull-right"> MUSHROOM SEER The dual-ability monsters Mushroom Seer came in with both poison and silence abilities. Aside from her heavy magic damage, the poison took off extra health from her targets while the silence reduced the magic damage of all opponent's magic monsters by one. </div> --- <div class="pull-left"> GOBLIN PSYCHIC To announce her arrival, Psychic brought in three abilities namely, affliction, tank heal, and silence to the battlefield. Its silence ability further suppressed the damage of the enemy's magic monster while afflicting its targets by making them unhealable. The front-row monster also enjoyed the tank heal from Psychic. </div> <div class="pull-right"> MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN Slipspawn's taunt ability attracted all attacks to itself and gave room to its teammate to inflict damage on the opponent monsters. There's also a forcefield ability but it didn't get used in the battle because non of the enemy's damage was above four. </div> --- >That will be all for this week. I hope you enjoyed the read. Please join me next week for another battle mage secrets challenge same place. Leave a comment on how the strategy can be better or any other of your choice. **Thanks For Stopping By** </div>
