## RC (Resource Credits) issues in Hive: Let's fix it cheaply.

## What exactly is Resource credit?

In Hive, transactions are free if you consider monetary value but in reality, transactions do require resource credits and you need resource credit for every transaction like writing the post and comment, editing the post and comments, upvoting and downvoting, transferring the Hive/HBD or even some game transaction require resource credits. On the basis of transactions, the resource credit requirement of each transaction is different whereas "writing" on Blockchain requires most resource credits but voting on post requires fewer resource credits.

## Resource credits are directly proportional to Hive Power yet separable.

The amount of resource credits gained in the account is directly proportional to the Hive Power of the account but resource credit can be separately delegated. You can get resource credit while you get the Hive Power even if you own it or you get the delegated Hive power but still, you can delegate Resource credit separately thanks to the Hard fork (might be a year or more now.)

## Other use of resource credits.
 Resource credits are also used for claiming Hive account creation token also that can help in onboarding new users in Hive.


## Optimal resource credits.

In my understanding, a resource credit of 100 Billion is fine for a regular active account, and this will correspond to less than 100 Hive power.

## Way to get resource credits.

### 1. For Free

There are so many accounts that have thousands of Hive power and do not require all the resource credits for their daily operations. May be if you able to request from your friend or put a short thread about it, people generally help.

### 2. Alternative cheap way.

You can create a lease on Hive Engine and there are 100% chances that your lease request will be filled at 1% APR, with SPS currently less than 2 cents, you can get you RC request funded for a year for less than 30 cents.

### 3. Leasing Hive Power.

In the same way, you can take a lease on Hive power, which helps in getting curation income too but 100 Hive power is an insignificant amount for curation income.

### 4. Buying/Earning Hive and powering up.

Earning and Buying Hive and converting to Hive power is the best way but requires effort or money. So I will suggest taking an RC lease (if you do not get it for free) and engaging in Hive, By the time your RC lease expires, you yourself accumulated enough Hive power that you do not need a separate RC delegation.
