[Image source](http://bgr.com/2017/10/05/simulation-theory-the-matrix-science-proof/) In comparison to the universe, an individual person is like a speck of dust in a desert. The universe is so vast that it makes you question about how and why you end up where you are. Let me give you an example. The fact that you are reading this is a miracle in itself. For this specific action to happen, there had to be a series of events in the correct order and in the exact moment when it was supposed to be. After the big bang, out of the gazillions of planets, life had to originate on earth, out of the million different species, humans had to achieve intelligence and to civilize. The apple had to fall that day when Newton was sitting under the tree in order for him to formulate the concept of gravity. Out of the billions of people, your parents would have to choose each other as soulmates in order for you to be born. Dan and Ned had to have the idea behind steemit and you would have to discover it that one fateful day. Even today, you had to come online and browse your feed a few minutes ago in order for you to be able to read this. If you were late by even an hour, my post may have went way down in your news feed or maybe you would not have clicked to open this post. But you did! And it had to be this exact way. So out of so many possibilities, this is how it turned out. So if we look at it this way, we don't have any control over anything. What ever we do from now onwards, will be how it is supposed to be. ___ Lets say you woke up today and when you were going to have breakfast, you ran out of juice. Lets ask ourselves why you ran out of juice. Out of all the possibilities, lets say you probably forgot to buy some when you were at the supermarket. But why did you forget? Maybe because when you went to get juice, you got distracted by a soccer ball when you were on your way to the aisle where they keep juice. But you got distracted by the soccer because you used to play soccer a lot but stopped playing because your left leg was broken in a car accident. But there was an accident only because the road was slippery that day and your tires were worn out. But the road was slippery only because it rained heavily that day. But it rained heavily because of pressure and temperature fluctuations in the atmosphere. So you ran out of juice because of the weather. But the weather is there only because an atmosphere was formed around the earth millions of years ago. So you ran out of juice because of the earth. But the earth was formed only because a gas cloud condensed, formed the sun and the solar system which came from the big bang. So you ran out of juice because of the big bang that happened billions of years ago. So if the big bang and the successive events mentioned above happens a thousand over, would you run out juice every single time? So doesn't it mean that everything is prewritten and you have no choice over decisions you make? Just because everything is made out of atoms and they have to interact in a certain way for a specific thing to happen, and that your brain is made up of atoms as well and they have to bump into each other to generate a specific thought doesn't mean that you can't decide what you will be doing right? Because other wise, there is no free will and we are just doing stuff that was decided the moment the big bang happened. So are we living in a simulation? You decide.(pun intended) ___ ### Thanks for reading.
