Me, not the weather!

Today is another day of my Blender-learning day, made somewhat terrifying yet exciting leap toward a slightly further level in sculpting. Thoughts stirring up in my head as I sculpt this full body character that I’m going to show you the glimpse of it. So this post is also some kind of a teaser of one of my WIP model while I’m rambling about my thoughts. Though, probably some of you will immediately figure out what it is.

Mhm, proportions... .

Pretty much like doing digital art, most of us will find our own style, or niche, here on Steemit sooner or later, am I right? What you want to share about, how you write them down, how you do the formatting, how you decorate your post with custom divider, header, footer, logo, etc. All of which that will make your blog unique, make it says “Hey, it’s [your name here].”

Probably not all of us care so much about that and only care for the informative value in each post, which is not a bad thing, mind you. But I for one, care about the style, maybe too much that I told a group of people to stop using my divider once because they used it freely without permission. Obviously, it’s not the best nor it is the most standing out blog on Steemit, but I’m really happy with my BioShock-inspired art deco touch that I use.

For me, I've found my niche and have my style already. And now, the content is in question--"What am I going to post about in the art category, other than the simple step-by-step creation?" I asked myself as I stuck in sculpting the eyelids because God it’s so hard to get it right.

I am happy to show my work here on Steemit, especially when there are awesome people who appreciate it and give some advice (You, yes you!) even though I’m not as exceptional as some CG masters you’d see on Artstation, Blender Artists, or CG Master.

Then an idea popped up; Written tutorial. Not only I’m happy to post my work, I’ll also be happy to share tips, tricks, and everything that I know, or maybe an entire written Blender tutorial.

“Okay, so why don’t you just do it then?”

Thing is, I’m a newbie myself, thus I’m worried that I’ll mislead people if I do. I’m yet to find the confidence to create such content.

That’s why I’ve been doing ‘step-by-step’ post instead, without actually guiding/tutoring the reader.

Then another one popped up; A challenge. What sort of challenge? 1 model 1 day, similar to inktober? I can't even finish a model/scene without getting stuck then move to another one in 3 hours. Plus, there seems to be not a lot of Blender user on Steemit. And by "a lot" I mean as much as the gamers and artists in general.

Despite my doubts, I still think both are good ideas for me to do. But certainly not now. Maybe when I'm a little better than I am now.

This train of thought gave me an idea of what my next aim; finish a model faster than I'm capable of doing right now, step by step until the shortest amount of time possible.

Oh you're still reading? Thanks, I guess. For keeping up with my rambling. If you're an artist, what is it that you currently sought to learn and master in art? Anything new to try? Or are you happy with your current style? Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Click the icons below to join some of the best Steemit community on Discord where you can meet and hang out with awesome fellow gamers and artists, and help each other grow.

© 2018 Adam Rainite Lawsone.
