It can get boring sometimes as a stay at home dad. When this happens I usually head down to the local op shops to see what treasure I can find, or as the wife lovingly puts it "adding to the horde". Sometimes I get lucky and find something cool, sometimes not. It always gives me a buzz when I find a piece of Australian art by a known artist and I never get grief for bringing home junk when I do! Below are some images of Australian art pieces with links to info by the artist. Please enjoy!

Jeff Hook. "Jeff Kennet"

Scored this Jeff Hook picture for ten dollars. No complaints there as I was brought up seeing his pictures in the newspaper everyday. It was always fun trying to find the hook! "Hanging at picnic rock"
This one got my attention. Just the shear morbidity of it! It is actually painted in vegemite! I payed two dollars for it! What a find! I actually emailed him to let him know I'd bought it and he was stoked to see it!Read about Peter Browne here https://peterbrowne.com.au
https://steemitimages.com/DQmYUCiVBVyejJFVqkmV9MqFMKQCZGEvNMMfnMFQVwJoXFW/23113011_366421270472061_275825231_o.jpg

https://steemitimages.com/DQmcSTTFUZ8dNX583tjoNyvG5gceK5z54axmHMyji8DU266/tent.png

Peter Gasson. "Six of one, half a dozen of the other"

The wife brought home the first of three Gasson paintings we own. She paid a whole eight dollars for it (two's company). I found the other two at the same op shop about a year later and paid four dollars each for them. "Hauling wheat"
I love it when I find an etching, we have a few from different artists. This is the only Aussie one though! It cost me ten bucks!
