Questions:
Delegated proof of stake-  is there a desire or mechanism to increase the number of consensus nodes? Yes, but ppl have a limit on ppl they know and how many they can trust. I'd rather have 17 really well known trusted people that I can fire than twice that many.  
Is there probability w the delegated model that ..?  Vision that as this grows and scales, everyone of those nodes could be trusted by that company:
