My head is spinning from the movement in the upvote bot ecosystem over the last seven days. There has been changes with the top two bots again this week. We welcome a sort of new bid bot as well and all bots have suffered downward pressure on their upvote reward size due to a drop in the price of Steem. The one constant from last week seems to be the top bot. Also I started a tools section in this post last week that I'm splitting off into a separate post. I know not everyone is interested in upvote bots but everyone could benefit from the tools I've found over the last week. That post will be up tomorrow. On Friday I'm going to post an in depth explanation of my upvote bot strategy.

The Top Two @randowhale For the third week in a row @randowhale is, in my opinion, the best upvote bot. The bot's owner has made two big changes this week. The first change was a move from charging 0.5SBD to 1SBD while at the same time doubling the payout from about 0.85SBD to about 1.70SBD. As Steem continued a slow decline over the week he even bumped up the vote % slightly to maintain the payout. Kudo's! I think this change is a positive one because it maintains the service as a good choice from a positive ROI standpoint and makes it twice as effective from a hot list perspective. The second change is that the bot stays awake longer then sleeps for 10-12 hours till it's at or close to 100% again. This works out great if you are also a @minnowsupport member as they have a 12 hour time out between upvotes. So we'll count this as another positive that makes the Ole whale play well with others. @Minnowbooster They continue to tweak both the limits and the payout percentages. As of this writing the limits are 3SBD minimum per post, 6SBD max per day, and 20SBD max per week. I did some wallet and tool surfing and what I found is that you are getting a 1.45SBD upvote for each 1SBD spent for 3-5SBD buys. If you send 6SBD for one post the upvote drops to 1.33SBD. As you can see, you will get a better return from @randowhale so spend your upvote dollars there first and spend your extra dollars with @minnowbooster with an eye toward getting toward the top of the hot list.

The other non-bidding bots @minnowpond This one is a freebie. All you have to do is follow the bot and it will upvote your posts. You can also pay for a larger upvote and resteem. Realize that the free upvote from this bot is going to come at the cost of your feed being flooded with resteems. @followforupvotes Same as last week, follow the bot and it'll upvote you a max of once a day. @morwhale Morwhale holding steady with 8 upvotes worth not much for .005SBD. Also offers a complicated scheme where you send 0.002SBD and receive a memo back about how big the upvote can be. You then send 40% the amount of the upvote. @steemthat Steemthat has kept their price at 0.010SBD for an upvote. @resteem.bot Still the cheapest way to get resteemed and flood your feed. Send any amount 0.001SBD or more. @polsza The little kitty has managed to get it's vote power up to 36% while maintaining over 17,000 Steem Power. Send 0.50SBD and get slightly more than 0.50SBD in an upvote. @originalworks The cost is free. Reply to a post with @originalworks and if the bot determines that to be true it will upvote the original post. @minnowbooster has begun calling on @originalworks whenever you buy an upvote from them. @minnowsupport While @minnowsupport is much more than just an upvote bot I'm including it here because that is one of the many benefits of membership in the PAL network. There's a process to signing up and it's more involved than I want to go into here. Just go to their feed and find one of the posts that explain step by step on how to do it. Once your signed up you can call on @minnowsupport to upvote a post once every twelve hours or more. Right now the upvote is worth at least 0.10SBD. Steem Follower This isn't a normal upvote bot but rather a vote exchange. You're going to upvote people anyway right? Might as well get up votes in return. The lower your steem power the higher the percentage(well over 100%) you get in return votes. You'll still be able to earn the curation for your upvotes too. Check it out here: https://steemfollower.com/?r=4476

Bidding Bots All of these bots work the same way. They run for a set amount of time then dole out a portion of an upvote based on bids to the various bidders. The most common format is a 100% vote/2.4hour vote cycle. Other formats will be noted next to the Steem Power of the various bots. We have a new-ish bot, sneaky-ninja, added to the list. This bot had been available to members of a club but it is now open to all steemit users. Buildawhale Continues to move up the bid bot list and now has taken the number two spot from Bellyrub. Rumor has it that bellyrub may soon have nearly 1 million steem power and top even booster though. Interesting times indeed. @booster SP:724k(1.2hr/50%votepower) @buildawhale SP:470k @bellyrub SP:451k @boomerang SP: 69k @sneaky-ninja SP: 46k @minnowhelper SP: 42k @nettybot SP: 13k(1.2hr/50% votepower) @lovejuice SP: 13k @discordia SP: 8k @drotto SP: 8k(270 second/3.13% votepower)

Tomorrow morning I'll be posting a full list of tools that will help you decide when and if to use each of these bots. On Friday morning I'll be sharing with you which bots I'm using right now and why I using those.
