Recycling my fabric scraps into a throw pillow: recyclingdiy
Hi my fellow DIY lovers, I hope you are doing well. I would like to show you my latest recycling project. I know I’m late to this contest but after seeing this prompt I was moved to make something reusable from my waste/ scrap fabrics. I have always been a fan of recycling and as a sewist, my job creates a lot of pollutants (waste fabrics) but since last year I have promised not to dispose of my waste fabric so I store them up till I have the inspiration to create something useful from them.

I decided to make love-inspired throw pillow. I have made this before but a friend of mine took it so I decided to make another for myself.
This is not only a means to reduce pollution but also to create a beautiful home decor. It can add a creative touch to your bed or couch.

This throw pillow is easy to make and if you want to know how I made it, continue reading…

**Process:**
___________
I started by cutting my pattern in a half-love shape.

I fold my leftover fabric into 4, I place the pattern on it and cut. This will be the pillow cover

I sew around the edge but leave about 2 inches unsewn. This will help to turn it to the right side.

I ironed and started with the fillings.

For the fillings, I cut the fabric scraps into smaller pieces. This was the toughest part.

When I was done, I put the fillings into the pillow cover we had already sewn. Putting the filling was a bit of a struggle.

After I had inserted the fillings, I stitched down the opening with an invisible stitch.

This is the final result, I hope you like it as much as I do.
After making this pillow I gave it to my sister and she loves it.
