Now isn't this a sentence you never had to say in your life?

But I did as early as yesterday. Here's the thing...

I wear a hearing aid and essentially this is my hearing as without it I can't really do much. That's part of the whole deal and it is known. But there are all kind of things you can connect to this aid. One new such gadget is like a big microphone that you can give people to talk into so you hear them directly in your ear. It is supposed to help you hear in a loud environment. But when you use the mic you don't hear anything else. The person who holds your mic, has your ear. Literally.

It's a funny situation as you can hear something across the table but nothing near you. Sometimes people forget they are using it and leave it on the table and I'm stuck with..ugh...my hearing? please? thank you!

It's really a very uncomfortable situation for me that I know I must comfortable and "normal". It helps. I need it. 

Still, as a youngish person to use all this contraptions for something that most people use with no second thoughts...it's a hard pill to take. Even after all this time. I'm still not used to it.

However, the joy of having a nice conversation and the pure luck to live in a age where we have all this gadgets should and often does make the pros a lot more appealing than the cons.
