A cup of light brown drink is served to my table made of matching Dutch teak. From the surface the drink evaporates a distinctive aroma to the nostrils that blend the smell of ginger, cinnamon and pandan leaves. [Konten](https://m.kumparan.com/sigit-bc/teh-tarik-khas-aceh-ini-tak-terlupakan)

"This drink is made from a mixture of several spices, including ginger, cinnamon, tea leaves, pandanus leaves and cardamom," said Ustadz Faisal Hani, a man from Pidie, Aceh who mixes the "Teh Tarik" drink. This drink is very popular in Malay land areas, including Aceh and Malaysia.

Later this mixed drink of tea and milk is quite popular in Jakarta. Even to enjoy enough to buy instant packaging in stalls. However, the instant pull tea was different with tea pulling Ustadz Faisal's concoction, both of whose eyes were almost blind.

With enthusiasm, he told me that Acehnese specialties sold at his store use recipes from ancestors. I drank the tea dish, it felt different, both from the aroma and taste when the drink touched the surface of the tongue. The sweetness comes from milk feels good, mixed with the taste of ginger, cinnamon and cardamom.

"The key taste is the pandan leaves, these leaves that bind some of these flavors into a different new taste," he said. It must be admitted, the taste of this drink is extraordinary, I have never met teh attraction like this.

Maybe the addition of some spices makes the taste on the tongue taste special. I am still curious, about the tea, what other ingredients are mixed in the tea.

"The main ingredient is teh tarik which is already on the market, then added branded" gopek "powder tea, spices and milk", he added. Not thinking about the figure of Ustadz Faisal, even though he was not equipped with perfect eyesight, but had extraordinary talent mix traditional foods and drinks more recently.

In a diner named "Djambo Kare" Faisal Hani also provides coffee drinks from his concoction. Quite unique about this coffee, Uztadz mixes coffee with two flavors. "Buy one cup get 2 tastes," he said.
