FOMO : A Blessing & A Curse
FOMO as we all know it, is the Fear Of Missing Opportunity, which is a feeling you feel when you are feeling left out. In crypto that feeling can cost us a lot, and at the same time, you can be lucky to make a fortune out of it. We are in a crypto space where money flows in and out anytime. Every minute, a new crypto project is being born, every minutes a crypto project is getting rugged, there are about twelve thousand cryptocurrencies registered on CoinMarketCap. While some of us are into some projects for the long run, we can’t deny the fact that we just want to make easy quick money in some project we don’t really care about, just there for the short term.

FOMO can make you make some quick decisions that you might regret or be proud of later, it all matters to how it turns out. I FOMOd on some project in December and within 1 hour, I made 70% profit, that was a very lucky act there. Because after making the profit, I took out my profit and left the project, few hours later the project dumped. While it was dumping I wanted to buy again, but I felt it wasn’t necessary, I was lucky the first time, later found out the project was a scam project and it got rugged. I was just lucky, now, people saw the project do 70% in a day and probably got in, based on FOMO, unfortunately they were not as lucky as I am and got rugged. It was a blessing for me and a curse for the ones that got rugged.

FOMO is always good, depending on what project it is you are doing it on, and if they are sustainable. If they are sustainable, then FOMO is good. This that FOMOed BTC at it’s all time High 10 years ago and didn’t sell are in huge profit, those that FOMO on BTC at $19k all time high in 2017 and didn’t sell, were in profit when BTC got to $69k. We shall all agree that that is a blessing right? It’s definitely a blessing, I think. But if BTC had crashed, it would have been a curse. This is why it’s always advisable to do your own research before buying any crypto. I definitely think that buying any crypto at all is definitely FOMO, we buy because we don’t want to miss the opportunity bitcoin gave to early investors on the new coin we are buying into.

It’s just how sustainable the project you are investing in is, that will determine if it’s going to be a blessing or a curse. For now, I am FOMOing on anything that doesn’t involve my capital, but my time, this way I feel less hurt if things don’t go good.
