# Max Maccoby

Max F. Maccoby, son of Michael Maccoby and brother to Nora Maccoby and Izette Folger, is a Washington D.C. attorney and sits on the Board of Directors for Friends of the Orphans. In 1988 Max Maccoby graduated from the infamous Sidwell Friends School,[(1)](https://old-friends.co/school.php?s=50723) the same school as Chelsea Clinton and the Obama daughters.

Nora Maccoby was interviewed in 2015 and stated that the neighborhood in which they grew up was "pretty much 80% CIA operatives."[(2)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmd2Eey6CcE&feature=youtu.be) As it would turn out, Michael Maccoby's contact address, 4825 Linnean Avenue, Washington D.C. (presumably their residence), is only 1000 yards away from Comet Ping Pong.[(3)](https://www.google.com/maps/place/4825+Linnean+Ave+NW,+Washington,+DC+20008/@38.9520051,-77.063247,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89b7c9b5b56900dd:0x2dff4c39f7129455!8m2!3d38.9525975!4d-77.0606935) This neighborhood, interestingly enough, is directly connected to Connecticut Avenue.

Michael Maccoby can also be found literally speaking out in court to defend James Alefantis against claims that Comet's after-hours operations would attract "rapes and murders" to the area. More specifically Michael states, "I will personally take anyone who opposes this down."[(4)](http://voices.washingtonpost.com/rawfisher/2008/06/dc_official_outdoor_seats_at_p.html)

Nora and her father Michael run the family business, The Maccoby Group.[(5)](https://web.archive.org/web/20070108135746/http://www.maccoby.com/contact.shtml) Michael Maccoby is also a contributing author to *(vomits)* *The Washington Post*, and even co-publishes articles with Max.[(6)](http://views.washingtonpost.com/leadership/panelists/2009/01/unanswered-questions.html) Need I remind everyone that *The Washington Post* hired John Podesta as well and works with the CIA?

Max Maccoby inherited his position at Friends of the Orphans from his father, Michael, who was close friends with the founder, Fr. Bill Wasson, for over forty years.[(7)](https://www.nph.org/ws/page.php?path=news/archive/2006/mexico/eulogy.php) Wasson also founded Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), and it should be noted here that Friends of the Orphans is now known as NPH USA.[(8)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NPH_USA)

# Laura Silsby

Friends of the Orphans, of which Max Maccoby sits on the Board of Directors,[(9)](https://www.butzel.com/files/PDFs/201308041749102532391abc.pdf) is the organization likely responsible for providing some (possibly as many as 100) of the children Laura Silsby took from Haiti. Silsby's own lawyer, Jorge Puello, had stated in an interview with Fox News that Silsby's group took the children from, "An orphanage that collapsed in Haiti. It was called friends of the orphans of Haiti."[(10)](https://archive.is/ox7Fa#selection-533.1-533.96)

Another Steemit author, @heroic15397, [pointed out that this doesn't exactly mean this was Max Maccoby's "Friends of the Orphans"](https://steemit.com/pizzagate/@heroic15397/alefantis-friends-of-the-orphans-and-the-maccoby-family).

But...

An NPH/Friends of the Orphans facility, The Fr. Wasson Center in Petionville, collapsed during the 2010 Earthquake.[(11)](https://archive.is/g3VFE#selection-503.1-503.226)  Silsby would spend at least a week gathering children from Petionville and nearby Fermathe, all of which (Petionville, Fermathe, and the Fr. Wasson Center) were just within a few miles of each other.  

Another coincidence which suggests a relationship between NPH and Silsby actually existed would be the discrepancies found in the number of orphans NPH cared for in Haiti.[(12)](https://archive.is/KxRS4#selection-139.0-139.65) In June 2009, Molly Hightower (who would later be killed in the Fr. Wasson Center collapse) noted that 450 orphans were living in  St. Helene’s orphanage,[(13)](https://archive.is/0qKdd#selection-537.0-520.5) which is corroborated by official NPH reports.[(14)](https://archive.is/KxRS4#selection-139.0-139.65) What makes this particularly strange is that shortly after the earthquake it is officially reported by NPH that "all 350 children at St. Helene's orphanage are safe."[(15)](https://archive.is/IDSbM#selection-1349.0-1349.243) Official documents of Silsby's New Life Children's Refuge reveal that she went to Haiti looking to "gather 100 orphans."[(16)](http://pizzagate.wiki/images/4/4f/Nlcrhaitianorphanrescuemission.pdf)

While it's confirmed Silsby took children from more than one location, it seems *very* likely that she would have made a stop at NPH locations which were all throughout Port-au-Prince, Petionville and Fermathe. Here's a map of locations where Silsby is believed to have picked up children:

Not many know this yet, but a week before her arrest Laura Silsby was caught by a Haitian police officer in Petionville as she was trying to load 40 children onto a bus.[(17)](https://archive.is/SWTVV) Additionally Silsby was visiting Petionville at this time to speak with a man who "appeared to be a police officer."[(18)](http://www.reformtalk.net/2011/05/24/silsby-the-ultimate-savior-complex-updated/) These incidents would be **separate** from the case days later in which she was arrested for similarly taking 33 children.

>They said they wanted to go with our children and told us 'don’t worry, everything will be fine'

>They put the names of the children on a paper and asked me to sign the paper to accept. 

>The white woman told me: 'Don’t worry, you will be able to access your children.'

>The children were taken to an orphanage run by Austrian-based SOS Children's Villages, where spokesman George Willeit said they arrived "very hungry, very thirsty." 

>A 2- to 3-month-old baby was dehydrated and had to be hospitalized, he said.

Oh, and need I remind everyone of Silsby's *second* lawyer in this case (the first was arrested for bribery) who has quite the story as well:[(21)](http://archive.is/Natq5#selection-1987.0-1987.189)

>Mr. Puello is wanted by the police in at least four countries in connection with charges including sex trafficking of girls and women, and making counterfeit documents and violating parole.

All in all, despite the lack of charges and prolonged sentences, Laura Silsby and her collaborators were certainly guilty of these highly suspicious activities:

* Premeditation of moving children from Haiti to DR for about 1 year prior.
* Previously visited and planned for kids.
* Charissa Coulter knew the plan from the beginning.
* No authorized paperwork at all-just handwritten information from relatives.
* Knew none were orphans.
* No real established position in Haiti or DR.
* Volunteers had no previous position in Haiti or DR.
* No proof that interpreters were to be in place for the children, so educational opportunities would not be available as promised.
* No background checks for volunteers.

# James Alefantis

## David Brock, James Alefantis and the $850,000 blackmail lawsuit

In 2011 Max Maccoby represented defendants David Brock and James Alefantis, who were being sued by Brock's former boyfriend, William Grey, who sought to reclaim possessions now belonging to David Brock. Brock had left Grey for James Alefantis, and both would be subsequently harassed by Grey via email.

In August of 2008, Grey threatened to expose "embarrassing facts" about David Brock if he didn't get $850,000 in payments. Brock was *so* afraid of Grey's allegations being made public that he agreed to sell his own home to pay Grey the $850,000. Brock would then go to the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police and make charges of blackmail against Grey. ## Maccoby family's connections to James Alefantis and *Transformer D.C.*

*Transformer D.C.*, of which James Alefantis is Board President,[(23)](www.transformerdc.org/about/council) was founded by Jayme McLellan and Victoria Reis in summer 2002 to profile experimental work by up and coming artists of all ages and backgrounds.

Max's sister, Izette Folger, is an artist and member of *Transformer D.C.'s* Board of Directors.[(24)](https://archive.is/hDwIZ)

Max's other sister, Nora Maccoby, also attends *Transformer D.C.* events, and can be found here in 2007 attending a party for Washington D.C.'s most elite individuals under 40 alongside James Alefantis and Huma Abedin (Hillary Clinton's best friend).[(25)](http://washingtonlife.com/2015/07/13/the-young-and-the-guest-list-2007/) While she isn't mentioned as one of the donors, her name is printed several times on the **cover** of this 2012 invitation for a *Transformer D.C.* auction.[(26)](http://www.transformerdc.org/documents/Transformer-2012.Auction.Invite.pdf) Max's father, Michael Maccoby, is also a large donor to *Transformer D.C.* and attended this same event.[(27)](http://www.transformerdc.org/documents/Transformer-2012.Auction.Invite.pdf)
