On March 11th of 2011, one of the largest earthquakes ever occurred in Northern Japan which killed 28000 people. It was measured on the Richter scale at 9.1 magnitudes and caused around 360 billion dollars of damage. The earthquake caused a tsunami that forced people to leave their houses and look for high ground to avoid the rushing waters. The tsunami got over an 18-foot seawall and annihilated a coastal city in Japan.
