Consolidating my Communications Connections... From Four to One SIM
Since I moved to Portugal I've ended up running (and paying for) FOUR separate phone contracts, and I'm not even a fucking drug dealer!

I started off with my English SIM through SMARTY which i kept on because it's just damed useful to have an English number, the same one I've had for over a decade!

Then the first SIM I picked up was with Portugal Internet - unlimited data for only 30 EU a month, damned good service I must say, and I kept that on (runs out end of May).

Then I needed a Portuguese number because some online services here require it, so I got a simple NOS SIM - very basic, just a number and a few texts/ minutes a month and 500 MB data - top up 17 EU a month, pay monthly.

THEN for some reason both my English and Portugues SIMs just stopped working on the land so I tried out a MEO data SIM - which worked so I upgraded that to a 20 GB/ month option - enough for a couple to a few hours a day for several days in a month if you're not using VIDS, that was 26 EU a month.

So in total that was....

- 10 (for the UK SIM, actually a great deal)
- 30
- 17
- 26
- 83 EU a month all in.

PHEW, PRICEY! BUT AT LEAST FUNCTIONAL.

### Then Smarty cancelling me prompted to change....

Smarty texted me and said they're cutting my number because I've been out of the UK for 18 months - well if they don't want my money Devyce can have it - which I already ported my number to for the same monthly fee as SMARTY so fuck them.

Devyce is an app which acts just like a SIM - but it's free of any silly country restrictions and Whatsapp works fine too (I checked!).

It also has no SIM.

### I also took out a MASSIVE MEO CONTRACT...

I also, yesterday, had fibre optic Broad Ban connected - so I've now got a hard wired connection in my new house (and it works next door where I rent even through a 3 ft thick stone wall which is great) and I get 200 TV channels and phone SIM with silly text and minute allowances and 50GB of data, which for secondary use (on the land) is easily enough - like I can sleep on the land now most nights and use the Net.

Ideally I'd have had unlimited data but that wasn't an option with MEO, but I had to go with what I new worked.

The new wire....

Such a flimsy thing for such a fast data connection!

### Consolidated...

So that's me now down to one SIM - I can can cancel my NOS number and let my PI finish the end of this month and the whole package cost me 80 EU a month - so only 7 EU more than my many SIMS and I get the TV too.

That'll do me!
