The Simple Math behind Topping up my Pension....
So I spent some time idling today reflecting on my State Pension, which is a ways off and easy enough for me to max out, but is it worth it...?

What I've got I've got but here's what I need to max it...

![Screenshot 20220628 at 11.13.52.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmdSyXdcVbVzxwoqDpxEret5K5E2UQQ2ZijicLc5wPuFe1/Screenshot%202022-06-28%20at%2011.13.52.png)

It's about £1K a year to max my contributions for 14 years, so around the £14K mark.

And for that i get an extra £70 a week or £3640 a year....

So that's money back after around 4 years....

I can claim at 67, probably be 68 by the time we get there, so I only need to last 4 years to 72 to get my Vest back, by 76 that's 100% return and by 80 that's 150%.

And it's inflation proofed.

So it seems like a good bet to top up my pension.

And the beauty is that I don't need to worry about it for a few years yet - I can top up 6 years previous!
